Another hidden gem near the border. We are huge fans of Mexican seafood dishes , so decided to give it a try . Food was overall pretty yummy , though some items were a tad salty or greasy. Waitresses provided good service , but not particularly warm or personable especially with English speakers such as ourselves. Had a hard time getting refills as it was on the busier side. Prices are also a bit higher, and pricing for the whole fish we ordered was not clear (agreed to pay $16 for red snapper platter, but due to availability settled for tilapia which came up to be same price ???). Mango margarita didn't taste like mango, think cherry pineapple big stick/popsicle , but was still tasty. It was also nice that we got some kind of complimentary spicy soup and chips and salsa upon being seated. Overall we enjoyed it , but not enough to go back a second time given all the other options here in San Diego.

The food was alright. What gives this place the two stars is the lack of communication from the server. First of all, the menu has soft drinks with refills and bottled soda which cost much more and have no refills. I ordered a soda and the waitress brought a bottled soda. I explained that I wanted the one with the refills, she said that wasn't available anymore. What REALLY made me dislike this place is the 4% surcharge at the end! There is NOTHING on the menu or anywhere posted about this phantom surcharge. Supposedly it's to "defray the rising costs of operations" and support the workers wages. This is absurd and ridiculous! It's a hidden fee to the consumer instead of raising the prices on the menu. See the photo attached. This, to me, is legal robbery. The owners should be ashamed of themselves!!

Really good fish dinner. Mostly tilapia on their menu. I had Haitian style marinated in spices then deep fried. Came with rice, beans salad and tortillas. It was delicious! Had a lot of bones in it but some fish does. My waitress spoke English which in this area is hit or miss. They had 2 different kinds of hot sauce I never had. The black hot sauce was fantastic! I didn't even try the other one. I'm very pleased with my meal here. I'll come here again. The only downside is 90% of their fish is tilapia. They did serve salmon. I want to find some cat fish. They also had oysters and octopus. I recommend this place. My food was perfectly prepared 😋

Okay so this is an extremely honest review. I go here quite a bit for the fish tacos. However, yesterday my mother ordered it on Uber Eats since it was 4th of July we didn’t want to go out to pick it up. The first time they sent the order we were missing tacos & ceviche (mind you we bought 2 ceviches for 2 different people) when we called them about it they tried to say we were lying basically. Although we showed them the order. They sent someone with the missing tacos but we were still missing one ceviche so we call them again to inform them. Which they rudely stated that they put both orders of the ceviche in one container. There were two people in our household that wanted ceviche we assumed they just messed up so one person ate the whole thing which wasn’t much for supposedly two orders. So now we have one person (my mother who has stage 4b cancer) who didn’t get to eat at all because of this. She is not able to share food with other people because she is immunocompromised. They should not be putting two separate orders of a dish in one container and assume people should just know that. I get trying to cut cost by using one container but they shouldn’t assume. If they need to they need to implement the cost for a separate container in the price. They were also rude about it and argued with us. I’m sad because we order here literally all the time and I’ve never had this issue with them before. My mom is exhausted and does not need to be arguing over food she clearly paid for. Not sure if we will be going back. The food is always really good though! I just couldn’t believe the attitude of the woman we...

I work very closely to this restaurant. I agree with some customers that they act strange with people who only speak English which shouldn’t be. Both my adult children are bilingual and when they come with me it’s all good or when I’m with coworkers it’s all good. The shrimp tacos are wonderful and I’ve tried many other items on the menu. The customer service is very lacking. The waitresss can be very condescending and from the comments many others feel the same. Of course food critiques are going to be given the best service and their meals paid for by their establishment. My money is green just like everyone else’s. I refuse to patronize restaurants who discriminate again people who speak another language or are not the same color as the establishment. Baja Fish Market, you really need to STOP doing this! I think your number one concern should be make sure your food is michelin, and next, make sure your customer service is superior. When one of these is lacking, it’s only a matter is time...
