Valli Hi Motel San Ysidro — Hotel in San Diego

Main reason for the lower rating is for the service. We arrived super early, which I completely understand is our fault, but my husband came to the window for info and soon as he walked up the gal told him check in is at 3 and no latet then 12. And he tried talking again and she said sorry and kept doing what she was doing, so we just decided to take our luggage and do what we had planned. So we come back, check in that evening, and we had set up the reservation to pay at the hotel because we had a couple of rooms so each person could pay their own. Well, lady was at it again. Soon as my husband checked in, pulled out cash, she said nope it gets charged on the card on file. he says no, we dis this, she would not take no for an answer and did what she wanted. Im sorry, am I not the customer? And my husband is nice, she got lucky I didnt come to the window I would have made her refund the money and take the dang cash! Pool is getting remodeled. Had a week-long vacation in San Diego staying at a different hotel. After checking out we decided to extend our vacation and found the Valli Hi motel had rooms available at a really great rate so we decided to stay the night there and it made us disappointed we hadn't just stayed there all trip. This motel was amazing. Great location with plenty of dining options including a 24/7 McDonald's right next door. Convenient location right off the freeway and close to imperial beach. Mo was the manager on duty the day and night of our stay and he was fantastic. Very personable and was walking the premises and sanitizing all handles and railings. What other motel would a worker actually care enough to do this? The room was very spacious and nice. Huge tv with many premium channels. Bathroom was extremely clean and bed was very comfortable with fluffy pillows. We felt very safe as they have a nighttime security that walks the premises. It was very quiet too. I would recommend this place to anybody staying near San Diego/Chula...

My husband and I rented a room and he has a terrible stomach disorder. We had already paid and before our key to the room was handed to us he had to use the bathroom urgently before we even arrived there. The girl at the front counter did not allow him to use the lobby bathroom. This occurred on 2 occasions during the Summer of 2021 and Summer of 2022 where others were allowed to use the restrooms but he was not. We believe it was racism because we are Chaldean but every Mexican that walked in was allowed to use the bathroom. At first we thought maybe it was a gender thing so I asked if I could use the bathroom real quick for feminine care just to see what she would say and I was given a "no" as well. Both women who worked there were very rude to us yet they were super kind to the Mexican's and greeted them in their native language. We do not speak Spanish and the people working here barely speak English so there was a language barrier there as well. We will never come back to this...
