Baja Giant Pizza — Restaurant in San Diego

I am so incredibly disappointed in the service we received tonight that I wish I could give negative stars. To start with, our food was delivered 30 minutes late, so instead of the 45-60 minute wait it was 90 minutes. Of course, our food was cold. The cheese pizza we ordered was pepperoni, and our two orders of hotwings with fries and salad were flipped about so badly that they were fully mixed together.

When I called the restaurant to complain I first spoke to someone who spoke clear English and understood me, but was immediately transferred to someone who had quite a hard time understanding what I was telling him and gave me a very hard time. He immediately took an attitude of "oh well, what do you want me to do about it," but without saying those exact words. It took me a few minutes just for him to understand that I wasn't upset by my wings, fries, and salad being in the same container, but rather that they were all mixed together. He kept asking what was wrong with it and why I had a problem with the food. Then when I was explaining that my pizza was not only cold from being so late, that it was pepperoni when I ordered cheese, he argued with me that he hadn't sent out a pepperoni pizza. I offered to send him pictures of everything if he wanted. and he still tried to argue that they hadn't done it. He was very dismissive and was constantly interrupting instead of listening to what the problem was. He never once apologized for the mistakes, and finally after nearly 10 minutes of going back and forth he told me to save the food to send back and they'd make everything fresh to send out to me.

When we got our second order everything was right and tasted as it usually would from this place. I should also add the the delivery guy was quite friendly and apologetic. We were quite disappointed to see how tiny our hotwings were in this order. You know the itty bitty ones they have to throw 1-2 in each order typically? That was almost our entire order of 24. I lined up some goldfish crackers next to one and it was 3 goldfish long, and it wasn't even the smallest wing. Most of them weren't even a full bite of chicken.

I have ordered from this place several times, and this is not the first time I've been given a hard time about something. I've had items missing from an order that had to be sent out, many times it would be 10-15 minutes late, etc., but this time was so bad I finally had to write a review on it, and this is my first negative review on...

I do not recommend Giant New York Pizza! I'm very disappointed in the overall experience at this establishment. As soon as I arrived I walked to the counter and I greeted the gentleman "Good evening", but I received no response or acknowledgement that I was standing there. The gentlemen continued to stare down at his phone while typing, mind you I was the only customer in the store. So I sat down at the table to wait for someone to assist me. I saw a lady in the back moving some metal bowls and we made eye contact and still no acknowledgement or a few kind words "Have you been helped?" I don't put any blame on the lady in the back because she probably was under the impression that I'm being help by the gentleman at the front. Once the gentleman is done on his phone he walks away. Once we returns to the front counter he finally ask me if I've been helped which is about 5 mins of me sitting patiently at the table. Of my response was "No", I informed and I was here to pick up a pizza. I paid for my food and left. I remained polite throughout the whole experience. First impression and good customer service is very important in the food service industries. I will not be going back to that place ever again not to mention the pizza...

I called in my order the gentleman on the phone said it would be ready for pickup in 20 min. Once I arrived 20 min after I got off of the phone they hadn't started making my pizza. I had to confirm multiple times that I wanted "Bacon" not Canadian bacon, not ham, not turkey bacon... I just wanted Bacon. After I paid I noticed they hadn't started my order yet. After being in the store for 25-30 min I received my food. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the establishment. Once I opened the pizza I noticed there wasn't a lot of bacon or pepperoni on the pizza. The pizza was eatable but it was typical "mall" pizza. The bread sticks were horrible, and the Hot wings were GREAT. Rated 3 stars due to staff knowledge, they reminded me to get my 2 liter before I left, and the hot wings. If you are looking for great breadsticks and pizza I wouldn't go here. I will order my pizza from the Domino's on the next block, and stop here...
