This young man is making some delicious beef birria and tamales. I had both when I visited his new eatery. I had two quesa tacos with beef birria and a chicken tamale and rajas tamale or cheese and jalapeno.
The quesa tacos were fantastic. The beef was juicy and flavorful, and the tacos were very well prepared. I liked that the corn tortillas had a touch of crispiness. The tacos were simply delicious.
The rajas tamales were outstanding. It arrived pipping hot with the cheese melted and hot steam exiting as I broke into it. The peppers inside were not overly ho but packed great flavors. The meat was tender, the cheese and avocado already being included was a nice, unexpected touch (especially since everyone charges for these basics as add-ons), and the sauces were on point. The cilantro lime sauce was creamy, tangy, and had just the right amount of kick to easily bump sandwich up into my top tortas in San Diego. Good job...
