Don’t support this place! Listen to all the bad reviews! I have never been treated so terribly by a business. Dr. Santiago and Kevin were nice. Lavonna the manager was the rudest and most unprofessional person i have ever encountered in a business setting. I am a foster mom and my newest foster , Petunia has been leaking urine. She was dumped in the high desert found dehydrated and at deaths door. She was taken to high kill shelter Apple valley and a rescue contacted me and said they could save her from being killed if I could foster her. I told them i could for 6 weeks but then I’m leaving for a month. We decided we would work really hard to get her adopted fast. Because of this urine issue we realized it would be hard to get her adopted quick and the rescue was low on funds to get her seen. We spent a week getting donations and came up with $300 in hope to get her a diagnosis and some meds. The rescue is in LA and asked me if i had a vet I could recommend . I had been here twice before with my dog and liked the dr. She called and set it up and said good news, the exam fee would be free. I know some vets work with rescues so I was happy about that. When I got into the exam room Lavinna came in and said the fee would not be waived because I had been there before. I tried to explain I didn’t own the dog and am a volunteer and the rescue is in LA and that the appointment was made in the rescues name. I was confused because I had thought they were waiving the fee because it was a rescue. She said absolutely no. Her tone was rude we had some words and I said do what you need to do. I texted the rescue and she was confused and said she would call and get it figured out by the time I was checking out. They ran a lab urinalysis test and I was in the waiting room waiting to pay. Lavonna was on the phone with the rescue and her tone was equally as rude. She got off the phone and came to the front desk and told me I needed to leave started talking about entitlement as I was trying to explain the situation and how she’s just my foster and I am trying to help her she said You are the one that chose to foster. She said leave and don’t come back and I begged her saying I took time off to come here, the test was done, I will pay full price I just needed this to be done. She finally agreed and then said she gave me $30 off. I thanked her and left. I got a call saying they needed blood to get her the meds. They gave me a quote and I let the rescue know so we were all on the same page. I asked the rescue if they could call and pay over the phone for the second visit and they said they would. I walked in with the intention to be very nice as I didn’t want any more conflict. They took Luna back for blood work and then the rescue texted me they were calling them regarding paying over the phone. Again I hear Lavonna on the phone being super rude. My phone rang and the rescue said omg this lady is so terrible, I’m sorry Ivy but I hung up on her I can’t deal her anymore, Please pay and I will Venmo you. I said “ I’m sorry I wish I never recommended this place”. Lavonne heard me say that and went in back, grabbed Luna, brought her out and said you need to leave now. I was like what? She said get out or I’m calling the cops. Again I said please we have already paid to get this far can we finish this and I won’t ever come back. She called me entitled at least 5 times said I was spoiled and must be used to always getting my own way. I have spent years of blood sweat and tears on my foster dogs , hardly entitlement or being spoiled. I asked for the owners phone number which she wouldn’t give me and said if I don’t leave now the cops will escort me off the property. We now have to start over, pay another Dr. to do tests and the part that hurts the most is that Luna is now that much closer to not being able to find a home before I leave and another dog won’t be saved with the money we wasted. The lack of empathy, compassion, and overall hate that this lady spewed would make me ask you to find...
Read moreMy recent experiences at this veterinary clinic have been deeply concerning and frustrating. While many of the staff are genuinely kind and professional, the communication and overall professional support are clear struggles that significantly impact the quality of care. My initial issue arose when my cat was not recovering from sedation as expected. It was clear there was an over-sedation, and I was asked to return in 30-60 minutes, which was unsettling and lacked clear communication about the situation. Upon bringing my cat home, I discovered he was unable to walk steadily, falling and tripping frequently, a crucial side effect I was not warned about by the clinic staff. A subsequent visit involved being sent home with medications for another cat, specifically for an upper respiratory infection and oral antibiotics. Crucially, I received no instructions, paperwork, or any form of guidance on how to properly administer these medications. I was left unsure if I might accidentally get the medication in my cat's airway. My cat began throwing up, and when I called the morning after, I was told I'd receive a call back, but it never came. The following day, after administering the medication, my cat started convulsing. Still, it was approximately four days later that they finally got in touch with me. When they finally called back, they offered a free visit, but I requested more professional communication about the implications of the prior incident. I was promised that the office manager would call me the next day, but here it is three weeks later, and that call never happened. Three weeks later, needing vaccinations for my cat, I reminded them I was still waiting for their follow-up. My most recent visit was particularly distressing. After a difficult journey to the clinic with my four cats, one of my cats had an accident, leaving me with feces on my hands and the cat. I requested paper towels to clean up, but instead of assisting, three staff members of the same cultural background began loudly discussing the situation in the waiting room, audible from my visit room. Their demeanor suggested a concerted effort to avoid addressing my immediate needs and prioritize their own convenience over client care. When I opened the door to reiterate my request for paper towels, they asked me to leave the clinic with my four cats. They did, however, kindly suggest I could use the restroom to wipe ourselves down before leaving. They stated it would be best if I returned when the office manager was present, citing my frustration and anxiety. All I wanted was a professional interaction, but instead, I was met with staff shouting in the middle of the office simply because I asked for cleaning wipes. The lack of clear communication, insufficient patient care instructions, and the unprofessional reaction from some staff members are doing a significant disservice to this business. While I appreciate that their prices might be more affordable, this should not come at the expense of professional conduct and...
Read moreThe employees at the hospital are fine except the extremely rude , lavonna she is not professional or helpful at all. She is very prejudice against white people she even told my foster she was spoiled and thought she was privileged you don't talk to customers this way. She was very rude to me on the phone but i let it go so we could get our rescue dog taken care of I should of known better after speaking to her. I made an appointment for one of our rescue dogs it is supposed to be complimentary first visit. So I made an appointment as a new patient. An because the foster had been there before but I was the new client and I made the appointment they will not honor the complimentary exam but yet charge you full price and then argue with you Lavonna should not be in a management position as she has no idea how to communicate with people and is not professional. She is very rude. The Doctor is great, but the manager Lavonna is someone you just don't want to deal with you don't need her attitude and so when the dog had to come back for the blood work they refused to talk to me and would only talk to the person that brought the dog in which was my foster mom Even though she belongs to my rescue and I was wanting to pay the bill but yet unable to pay the bill as they wouldnt except my payment, then I was on the phone with my foster mom and she only Said she was sorry she recommended this place to me Lavonna then kicked her out and threatened her with calling the police and started saying rude things to her and started calling my foster mom names like a spoiled brat and that she thought my foster mom was white privlidged . If thats not racist i dont know what that is. My foster mom is very respectful and nice and didnt deserve to be treated this way that was uncalled for I would not recommend them and I will never be going back there. They do not know anything about customer service. An they are definitely not compassionate about the animals. Lavonna makes this vet office very undesirable to go to when you need help with your pet. If you want to be treated rudly and disrespected called names and then threatened that's what you will recieve at this office you will not get great service. I would not even give 1 star if it wasn't required to post a review. Exactly the reason they have so many complaints. Lavonna is not an asset but more like a liability to this vets office. Hopefully this review will help others and keep you and your pets from having to go through the poor service you will recieve here. Do you really want to pay a $75 for an office fee only to be treated so poorly and rudely Their are so many other wonderful vets in San Diego please go to...
