This restaurant just keeps getting better. The fresh food is delicious. We had Hummus and pita for starters, then chicken kebab salad, gyros salad, and gyros sandwhich. You CAN have fries with that or upsize to a salad or another one of their yummy sides. I usually get the moussaka which is a svory layered dish with white sauce and comea with pitaz rice and small salad, but tonight I felt like a lighter fare. Of course we finished it off with Baklava. They have a wide variety of dessert options, though, so you can satisfy your inner child with whatever you'd like. They also have wine and other strong beverages on hand. You could come for a quick and amazing lunch, dinner, or even just Desserts and drinks. They won't hurry you out because as busy as they are, there is plenty of inside, and covered enclosed patio sitting. They also do yummy take out, as we watched about a dozen people stop by to pick up their Saturday night delights.
This is a family owned and opperated establishment and have been serving up delicious Greek foods for several decades.
The 'new and improved location (just next door to the original) has raised their atmosphere to epic levels. Business Lunch? Check Dinner with your boss, or in-laws? Of course! Romantic Anniversary dinner? You bet ya. First Date with a Cozy, safe and friendly...
Read moreWe come to Olympic Cafe all the timeâitâs honestly one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego. This place is such a hidden gem, and the sweetest family-owned spot. You can truly feel the love they put into their food and serviceâtheyâre always so friendly, personal, and take the time to chat with customers.
The food is incredible!!!! We usually get the platter, which comes with chicken, another choice of meat, rice pilaf, pita, and saladâsuch a huge portion that you can either split it or have leftovers (which is always a win). And their homemade cheesecake? To die for. My absolute favorite cheesecake ever. We probably could have split one, but my husband and I had to get our ownâeven if we had to be rolled home after, it was 100% worth it.
We came here on Valentineâs Day, and it was such a cute, romantic dinner. We had a cozy table by the window, candlelit with rose decorationsâthe whole setting felt like something out of a movie. This place just has so much charm and warmth.
Their wine selectionâthey always have unique options, which makes it fun to try something new. Great prices, great food, great people. Olympic Cafe is 10/10 all around, and weâll definitely be back soon (probably this week,...
Read moreIt was the day before Memorial Day and friends called me and asked me if I wanted to eat out. Since I'm new to the area I said you pick the place and they did the Olympic Cafe. They have a menu with grape variety. I was torn between a gyro plate or liver and onions. Both of these dishes I can't get enough! One friend ordered a patty melt with fries and the other ordered the special of the day which was ribs. I ordered the gyro platter. Our arrival time was perfect because after we ordered Table after Table after table filled up. It was a short wait for our meals and all of us were happy with our selection. The amount of food was abundant so much so my friends had to take a to go box I did not I consumed my dinner in one setting smiling all the way. The Olympic Cafe was a great little place to go with friends. I recommend it highly I know I'll be returning if for nothing else but the liver and onions. The truth of the matter is,this will probably be one of my regular places to eat. By the way did I mention that the desserts were fabulous... tomorrow's another day. It just might be the day for liver and onions. If you miss the Olympic Cafe you have no one to blame...
