Carl’s Jr. — Restaurant in San Diego

This is genuinely the worst service I've ever had from a fast food place. If I didn't work 2 blocks away or had the ability to drive to the crowded In n Out a few minutes away, I would NEVER go here. Also the men's restroom is consistently disgusting. If you think you'll need to use the toilet, go anywhere else.

The service at this location is utterly abysmal. I've walked in during lunch to place an order at the counter and on several occasions the person who manages the counter/takes drive through orders/brings food from the kitchen to the drive through window literally never looked in my general direction while I was waiting at the unmanned cash register to order. The guy just walked back and forth from the kitchen window to the drive through while sometimes taking drive through orders. On numerous times I've waited about 5-10 minutes, just staring at the cashier's back before the cashier even looks in my direction or takes my order which is insane. I get that the person is really busy and probably has to focus on the drive through during lunch rush but simply checking if someone is waiting at the cash register to order shouldn't be that hard and a simple "Welcome to Carls Jr. I'll be with you in a second" isn't hard either. The thing I find so weird about this is if you walk from the drive through window to the area that has the cash register and right across from it the window to the kitchen, you should just automatically see if anyone is at the cash register. In order to not see if someone is at the cash register, you'd have to specifically turn your head 45* away from the cash register or just be facing the opposite direction as the cash register as you walk back. I've waited enough times that if I have to wait 5 minutes before the cashier takes my order or even just says hello, I'll just walk to somewhere else across the street because they clearly don't seem to care that they take my order. This isn't a problem with one specific person, I find this neglect of in person diners while focusing so much on the drive through to be incredibly common.

I went one evening at around 8pm and it took a few minutes of waiting at an unmanned cash register before someone emerged from the back of the kitchen to take my order.

The men's restroom is consistently disgusting. I try to avoid using it but every time I do there's usually one or more scraps of toilet paper on the ground and patches of the ground are mysteriously wet. If I felt I'd need to use the restroom during my meal, I'd consider just going elsewhere.

The food seems average...

Worst place ever! I spent almost $40.00 dollars and the food tasted so bad. The 3 orders of medium waffle fries was so cold and barely enough pieces in there. My kids were complaining about their star chicken nuggets being too cold. Let me just say everything was really bad. I feel really bad for the guy that helped us he was so nice, great customer service. But he kept apologizing for the long wait and coming back to the drive through because we didn’t get all the food we ordered smh. We should’ve had Korean food instead. Never again going back to that Carls...

Hours of operation sign says 6am-9pm.... Standing outside at 6:19 and the doors are locked and dim lights in kitchen area. If the sign says 6 you should open at 6. Not to mention there's a line of six car sitting there. People are driving up driving back around. You have DoorDash people waiting for their food knocking on the doors. The windows walking around everybody's looking but nobody's open in the doors. Kind of sad. I started with a two star because it's was nice. Staff changed it to one star because...
