I recently placed an online order via the Chipotle website. I, like many customers, was in need of the quality food that Chipotle is known for. The order I placed was a lunch order. I placed my order well ahead of time and utilized the convenience of online ordering to ensure that I could pick up my order quickly. I had a hungry working crew who needed lunch and I didn't want to keep them waiting. When I arrived to pick up my order, I was told by the manager, Avalena, that they had not received my order. I tried to show Avalena proof of my order on my phone - my credit card had been charged! Avalena just hastily walked away and told me that I needed to resubmit my order - all without an explanation. As I sat down re-order, a couple of other folks told me that they also had an online order and Avalena told them that they never received their order. I learned that instead of being honest with the customers and telling them that perhaps there are technical difficulties with the online ordering system, she claimed that all of the Chipotle customers never sent in orders. While I was in the process of trying to place another order, I tried to ask  Avalena questions regarding the fact that my credit card had been charged - I was wondering how Chipotle would handle this situation. I couldn't believe that Avalena would not even try to answer any questions as she rudely walked away and began helping others. During this process when I tried to approach her regarding my order she told me that we (all the online order customers) need to leave. She then told us "Chipotle doesn't need you". Believe me when I say I was not the only one who was flabbergasted and insulted by her rude comments, the entire store was sharing my sentiment. I do hope that this letter reaches the local owners or someone at Chipotle. If I were an owner of such an establishment (and I have owned and run a restaurant), I would definitely want to know if my customers were treated in such a nasty fashion. Her words are still ringing in my ears..."Chipotle...
Read moreTo all who are about to go to this Chipotle, STAY AWAY! I got extremely sick from this location for multiple days. I reached out to the store manager with no follow up from them or from headquarters. A few days later after I started feeling better, I went back to the establishment and met the General Manager Jorge A Escorcia who was extremely hostile and rude to me from the get go. He emphasized that he knew who I was because of the phone call I made to the manager earlier in the week. He insisted that their restaurant could not have made me sick and continued to be-little me until he flat out told me I was making a false acquisition about their restaurant. I had not eaten that day and after eating there I was ill after some hours, and he said that it was not possible that I could get sick from their food that quickly. I had to basically force him to write a report about the incident and requested that a follow up was made to ensure that had gone through the necessary procedures to double check their food safety standards to make sure no one else would get sick. He continued to use sarcasm and extremely short responses to anything I asked or said. From here I was at the point of just giving up with hopes to hear back from the headquarters in which he stated that they would be reaching out to me. 1 1/2 weeks later and I have still not received any follow up. This is a terrible example of customer service and does nothing but shine light on the poor standards of food safety and hygiene. Once again, to anyone that reads this, do not go into this Chipotle as you are in grave danger of getting sick from their food. I have worked in customer service for well over 15 years and have never treated anyone with such disrespect as I was given from Jorge Escorcia. Shame on him and his work place standards. He is a pathetic excuse of a General Manager and should be demoted for his...
Read moreI was in Del Mar recently and had a misfortune of knowing the Chipotle branch 2710 Via De La Valle, Del Mar, CA 92014. We ordered online and there was a problem with their online ordering when we got to the ranch. There were others had the same problem. The manager called "Avalena" couldn't be bothered to help people waiting. She really doesn't belong there. Any attitude like that in the UK would be immediate dismissal/sacking of the person involved. I told her that Chipotle without customers is nothing you should help and see what the customers want and need, and what is wrong, instead she replied "CHIPOTLE DOESN'T NEED YOU"!
Absolutely outrages! What manager of a company is so destructive of the company he/she works for?
If Chipotle wants to eradicate all these negative reviews and feedbacks then start by reading these reviews and do something about it. You have a terrible reputation for customers services. IF (capital IF) anyone reading these reviews at Chipotle had two vertebrae that resembles something like a spine, the first thing to do is to check the CCTV of the day and the attitude and behaviour of the manager Avalena. The second is to check with the staff. I have absolutely no doubt that they will have something to say about the manager.
She is just awful as a person and as a useless/destructive manager to say Chipotle doesn't need you! Utterly ignorant! Train them so that you will not have the lousy reputation you are currently enjoying to have. Just look at the negative reviews here!
You also a get an auto response from Chipotle to contact them via their site....nothing will happen there either!...
