CRAB CITY — Restaurant in San Diego

on Saturday, May 24 around 6 PM. There weren’t many other tables occupied at the time. While waiting outside for my in-laws. we wait and hangout at outdoor seating area. I was busy with my 1yr and didn’t realize I had dropped my phone outside seats.

my in-laws arrived and our table inside was ready. My service and food was good. We finished 7 PM about leaving that’s when I realized my phone was missing. I called my number, and used “Find My iPhone,” but my phone was already turned off. 🚩someone had likely found and shut it down intentionally to avoid detection.

Luckily a couple who dining outside noticed us searching. They told us they had found a phone earlier and, since no one had called yet, they gave it to a staff member.

why give 1 star.. because the behavior of the staff who got my phone. At the time, our table was the only one with a baby. my phone the screen has a very clear photo of me & my baby. It seems like a very obvious clue as to who the phone might belong to. And yet, no one approached me or asked if I had lost a phone, even though I was clearly searching and asking around. But turned the phone off completely. That part felt very suspicious. 🚩

Food was alright... had better seafood boil at other restaurants. But was mostly disappointed in the serving size and experience. They were quick to seat us but slow to take our order, while there was only one other party in the restaurant. We ordered 1 lb king crab and 1/2 lb shrimp w/ their add on combo ( corn, sausage, and potato) and this was all we got (pictured) .... we also ordered the fish n chips and the tenders & fries, plus 3 sides of rice and side of sausage plain for the kids. The only item that was worth the price was the tenders and fries. The sausage was thinly sliced... they brought out only 4 slices initially. We had to bring it to the waiter's attention, that it should have been 6 or 8 pieces per the menu. Although they did bring out extra afterwards, they failed to include any sausage in our seafood boil per the add-on combo we ordered. Additionally, they also only brought out 1 pair of scissors & claw cracker for a party of 7, and 1 little container of salt/pepper. The only other thing they got right was the portion size/quality of rice no wonder this place was not busy at all...

I ate there once and it was great and the second time I went the younger man who stands at the register took my order and then I asked for ice water, he gave me a plastic cup with water no ice and left it right on the counter. He never asked me if I was eating inside or outside. I then asked him again for ice water, he looked at me with a frustrated look, walked to grab a to go cup and I asked him for a glass please. He then grabbed a glass and a cup of water that was already sitting on the bar and poured the water from it into my glass. Still never asking me to have a seat or anything. I'm staring at him do all this right in front of me. My order was for in the restaurant. I couldn't believe it when he grabbed the cup of water off the bar and poured it into my glass. I have no idea who's water that was. I asked for my money back and left. I will never go back and I will make sure to tell this experience to everyone I know.
