I did quite a bit of looking when trying to figure out where to go for my birthday this year, about a week ago. I considered a prime rib dinner, considered lobster, considered a nicer restaurant or an old favorite. I wanted to go someplace somewhat special but not break the bank. I narrowed it down finally to two places and ended up deciding on this one because I have lived in Texas and hadn't had a seafood boil in ages. He got the shrimp Po boy which was huge and he was really happy with it especially for the price. I got the scallop boil. I haven't had scallops in forever. I didn't realize it didn't include any sides so I added in potato and it ended up being three medium-sized potatoes I think. The scallops were good size and there were several of them, comparable to what I would have gotten at Anthony's or someplace I'm sure. They were cooked perfectly. I'm glad I asked for the mild spice level because it was pretty spicy, enough to make my nose run and my eyes water. I got the lemon garlic sauce and it was really garlicky which I liked. They bring you a ton of lime pieces which we loved also. I like the place well enough I want to go back sometime and try the lobster or something else. I would recommend it to anyone who loves seafood and particularly seafood boils. When you decide you want to go back to a place before you've even finished eating your dinner there, I figure it must be good. I didn't catch her service name but she did say she was new and it was her first job and she'd only been there for 2 weeks and I think she did a...
Read moreI was just at this restaurant with my entire family. We ordered plenty of food and one of the items we ordered was the calamari basket, which on their menu it reflects that all baskets include Cajun fries for $15. When the order came out this basket only had a couple of pieces of calamari that were burnt fried and NO FRIES. We asked the waiter (a white tall male) to replace the calamari and to please bring out the missing items - the fries. This waiter was RUDE, he indicated that the menu had changed and that the fries no longer were being included. (keep in mind that the menu we had in our hands did not reflect that Information). We requested for them to follow what the menu reflected-but he did not and stated “ I AM NOT GIVING YOU ANYTHING ELSE , UNLESS YOU PAY EXTRA, THAT MENU IS WRONG AND WE ARE GETTING NEW ONES TOMORROW”.
At no time were we given this information prior to ordering. The waiter then just took the basket and replaced it with a new set of again BURNT calamari no fries. The smell and the look of it was horrible.
This waiter was rude, and not even willing to fix the problem. He should be FIRED and or take additional customer service training.
And to add the bathrooms in this restaurant where disgusting! There was an awful smell and toilet paper all over the ground including old dried urine...
Read moreI gave an extra star only because the servers and the rest of the employees were outstanding! I messed up our order by asking for just the seafood and not the combo/bag but they never gave attitude and were quick to correct it.
I've been to 5 other crabshack type places like this in the US and this is by far the worst one. (Food wise only)
Negative 10 stars because we all got food poisoning and my son was hospitalized.
We ordered crab (2 king crab legs) and mussels(almost $80 order). 80% of the mussels were closed and if you're a seafood foodie, you know how much of a health code violation that is but we didn't notice until we got to it. My dad being a dad trying not to waste food, still ate it and rewarded himself with 3 days of toilet time and declining health and bed ridden an extra 2 days.
Their "new" garlic noodles were WAAAAY off point. It was fettuccine noodles with reused, microwaved, and then reheated sauce... you know, that somewhat clumped together, somewhat runny.. like in the middle type of old sauce. But I ALWAYS order garlic noodles so I know how they usually are made in these establishments. NOT worth ordering
We ate there about a week and a half ago and yes. We JUST recovered which is why my review is so late. Not worth the $140 dollars (not including our $20+ tip) for 2 meals...
