Unfortunately, my craving was completely unsatisfied and my money wasted. I ordered out, and upon arriving home, I found the bread barely toasted and soggy, lettuce that absolutely does not belong in a BLT, mealy tomatoes, uncrispy, soggy fries, and gravy that was both runny and lumpy at the same time. A huge disappointment.
Whomever was cooking needs some lessons. Quality control is probably not normally an issue, but on orders going out the door, it's essential. This is one more San Diego restaurant I will not be going back to.
Let me just add, I've been eating at Denny's since I was a kid (many decades), and in many different U.S. states. So I'm familiar with the taste of several menu items. This was just bad cooking skills and quality control. Have some sense -- barely-toasted bread and non-crispy fries are not going to do well on a takeout order. And have you ever heard of stirring the gravy pot before you fill an order? It's not like the place was even busy. You weren't rushed, you...
Read moreI had a great experience at the Denny's at 1065 Camino del Rio S, San Diego, CA 92108, USA. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I ordered the Grand Slam breakfast, which came with two eggs, two pancakes, two sausage patties, and two bacon strips. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the pancakes were fluffy and delicious. The sausage and bacon were also cooked perfectly and were very flavorful.
My server was very friendly and attentive. He made sure that I had everything I needed and that my coffee was always full. He also checked in on me frequently to make sure that I was enjoying my meal.
Overall, I had a great experience at Denny's. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal at a good price.
