Been here over twenty times, this location always has fresh tasting beer (they must know how to properly clean taps), super friendly service, and never wait more than 5-8 minutes even if it’s busy! They always assemble their sandwiches with care - I’ve never had a sloppy sandwich from here.

Chips are yummy but have you tried their potato salad?????! It’s an often overlooked item that you should definitely get next time you order from here. My mom is vegetarian and LOVES this potato salad - perfectly cooked potatoes, more of a mustard-base, and fair portion size.

I love that they offer discounted beer for happy hour (starts at 3pm) and such a stellar beer selection - one beer plus a sandwich aka dinner for less than $20 is lovely. It’s hard to find a sandwich shop now that is affordable with quality ingredients, much less a restaurant that has consistent quality and friendly service.

Board and Brew has and continues to be a San Diego staple for any sandwich you could imagine and ESPECIALLY their Tom’s Choice. Melted and toasted and I am a happy camper. Pro tip: add a side of avocado and smear on every bite.

I come here often and I’m always greeted promptly, helped with any questions, and even get great beer recommendations from the staff. I love this location in particular but all of you guys rock! 4S/Del Sur is nice but I find gets too busy.

The subs here are awesome, (Turkey deluxe) and probably the best I’ve ever had. The service is super friendly (I love the guy with the curly mustache) and there is a bar with a good selection of beers where you can eat while you drink.

Second visit impressions: came here for lunch on March 3, 2018 and the experience on this date did not live up to my expectations from my first visit. The cashier on duty was not as nice (stared as I sat waiting for my name to be called when my order was done, which took a long time). My sandwich (left coast pastrami) did not taste as good today and seemed to be sloppily assembled. The one exception to the bad service on this date was the runner, who it seems was doing double duty as the bartender today, and the guy with the curly mustache was not there.

Also, on both occasions I have gotten bad vibes from the customers here. This area seems to be populated by rude and inconsiderate people.

Had to let my temper cool before writing this. Last week, I placed a mobile order scheduled for 5:53 PM and arrived at 5:54 PM. The order was not ready. After waiting several minutes, I asked an employee for assistance and was told to check the pickup area, which I had already done. No further follow-up occurred.

I returned 25 minutes later to ask again. The same employee appeared unaware of the issue, went to the back, and did not return with an update. At the 30-minute mark, I left without receiving my order or any communication.

During that time, multiple dine-in customers who ordered after me were served and left, and a line had formed to the door. The complete lack of acknowledgment or basic service follow-up was notable and reflects poor management of mobile orders. Why bother with a mobile order system?

I did not request a refund for the $15 sandwich and drink, as I couldn’t justify spending another minute waiting in that environment. I'm happy to provide additional details...
