Incredibly Rude! We walk into a nearly empty place on a Sunday afternoon where there are two other couples eating and no one in line. The loud obese order taker/sandwich maker was not at his station at the moment so went to the pleasant young lady at the counter to make a simple order. One of the featured bagel sandwiches, a toasted bagel with a smear, a latte and a coke. Sounds simple right? I mean for a BAGEL shop!
Apparently not. While we got the sandwiches fairly quickly, it was hard finding a clean table in this large empty space, and they forgot the latte. I mentioned this after going up to get the bagels after the sandwich maker bellowed out were ready as if we where across a pasture. He informs it would be right up. So I took the bagels to cleanest table I could find and returned for the latte and couldn't help but notice that not only were nearly all the tables soiled, but there was trash all over the floors. It looked like the floors had not seen any attention for a week.
Meanwhile two more customers come up. And loudmouth keeps making sandwiches. Meanwhile, I'm standing there being ignored while customers who had not even come in the door are getting their food and drinks while my food is getting cold.
What an ass! Forgive me for actually wanting my coffee with my bagel at a bagel shop. I should call...
Read moreI work at the hospital across the street and my coworkers and I love to order breakfast from this location. It's convenient to order from here because it's so close. Here's the catch though: the other reviews that describe how when you order to go the food/drinks aren't ready at the counter and if you try to ask about the order no one offers help or acknowledges you. The food is good here and that is the reason I am giving 1 star.
I want to emphasize that this location is not helpful, they don't label their bagel sandwiches, they don't acknowledge you when you walk in the door. Honestly you are better off driving down to the Einstein on college Ave close to SDSU. It's sad you have to drive a little further out for better service.
Editing to add some information: when we picked up our food we asked which sandwiches were which because we have 4 different orders and the manager "Jennifer" said "we don't label orders unless they are catered". Without allowing a response she walked away very rudely. We had to ask her in a loud voice what her name was because no other employees wanted to provide her name. I'm not sure if this location is burning through managers if the last complain 2 months ago was about a different manager....
Read moreSo today I stopped in to Einstein Bros. Bagels for an egg sandwich and drink. The sandwich was fine. No seating inside due to Covid, which I understand, lucky enough there was a seat outside. There for about 2 hours. Didn't realize it was 2pm and were closing. Worker came out said we're closed I need the chairs, not in a friendly manner.. Told worker that I would like to use the bathroom quickly and could I get a refill. Indignantly blocking the door, she said NO we're closed (it's 2:05). I asked if I could speak to Angela, the manager, who I guess was in the back. My family and I used to frequent this place 2-3 times a week before Covid. Employee comes back and tells me she's too busy to come out. I honestly don't care about the refill, really needed to use the bathroom and would've taken only 3 minutes. Hard enough trying to find a place to pee out in public in businesses with Covid. The employee, BN, which was what her nametag said was VERY rude and condescending all around. Even earlier when she rang up my order had a flippant manner. FYI not EVER going back to this location. May not ever frequent any of them again if that's the...
