We tried to get into Coronado RV park but sadly they were full but we can say our alternative stay at Admiral Baker was better than we could have expected. For $40 a day our sites were spacious, they had booming WiFi, Volleyball courts, dog park, horse shoes, shuffleboard, playgrounds, basketball courts, mini gold (fee required), and a great laundry room (1.00 wash)||||The campground is located off post which means you will have to commute to a base for Ticket purchases, theaters, events and commissary but it also means you can use Lyft/Uber with ease from your campsite. There is a pool but apparently it is not going to be opened again in the foreseeable future. ||||The golf course is top notch and has 36 holes (north and south course) though it on a map appears walkable due to the terrain and road you must drive to the course from the campground. ||||Distances to nearby bases:||Naval Base San Diego 8.2 miles||North Island NAS Halsey Field 12.1 miles||Naval Amphibious Base (Coronado) 13 miles||Naval Base Point Loma (near Cabrillo NM) 12.8 miles ||||||We are fellow travelers and have always appreciated when people write reviews about their experiences so we can make informed decisions on what we should do while traveling. First, the managment is a problem. They always thought i was up to no good, even tho all i was doing was using the dump & refilling my water tank.Once, after finishing, because of health issues,i had to use MY restroim for about 5 minutes.Manager accused me of camping out in parking lot.I shrugged it off,not wanting any problems.About a month and a half ago i went there to use dump & reill my water tank & was deied use of dump & water. Was told they have closed to the public because of problems with the homeless. What that had to do with me is a ?Wasted my time & fuel on the trip. Now my waste tank has been full over a month(& it reeks!& i cannot use bathroom) & water tank is bone dry. What an injustice.I did no wrong. My father served over 30 years, but they dont care.Unbelievable.Wish they replaced management & re-opened.I could understand if they denied use to those that abused the rules( using laundry room thats for overnighters,or not cleaning up any mess created at dump),but i followed ALL rules & still denied use,as if I did wrong.Not...

The park is very well kept, very well managed, has excellent and clean facilities, and a very scenic playground in the middle of the quad for kids and parents. The locatio is also fantastic, right in the middle of the Qualcomm area and minutes from Fry's electronics and Mission valley mall as well as great hiking up towards El Cajon and Santee. Price is fantastic as well!

The only reason I'm taking one star off is due to the music. Don't expect to get a good night's sleep during the weekends due to the horrendous music that blasts through the area until 2 a.m. on Friday, saturday, and yes, even Sunday night. While the music itself isn't too loud, the base penetrates all but the most robust RV's, and prevents any type of sound sleep unless you're a deep sleeper, which I am not. For that reason, it is not recommended to stay here over the weekend if you are a light sleeper. I've tried to complain but it seems the source is difficult to pinpoint with the area being surrounded by apartment buildings. Other than that, I really...

FYI this is a US NAVY MWR facility park for active duty retired military and DoD employees only. this park is on US government property. there are plenty of signs stating this. IDs will be checked. no dogs allowed so deal with it. plenty of local city parks to go to. so if you're a service connected vet...active duty...retired...DoD...this park is for you.

Tent camping great location. Lots of broken glass and rusty nails buried in the sand. Be wary of barefoot children and watch your pets paws! I'd be concerned from a liability perspective if I were the MWR Director. Use at own risk. Camping prohibited between Mid FEB and Memorial Day due to seal breeding just East in the lagoon.

I have had our I Do BBQ here and our daughters first birthday. We used Gazebo 1 for I Do BBQ which is more expensive but sooooooo worth it. My sister was able to set up music and speakers and we had a photographer come and set up. It was amazing the grills are great. And the park is right there for kids. I honestly love the place.
