Alrighty soooooo after a few visits but they were not open. And after a a tiny hiccup about getting the hours of operation clear. The owner let me know they have been short handed lately. He advised me that the hours of operation was changed online. And the time that is posted outside the restaurant are now 👍🏾 correct. It’s a super cute small yellow and green bungalow. Very colorful and cheerful. It is kind of a reminder of the unique and quaint restaurants in Key West. Now with saying that I hope you all will give this tasty neighborhood restaurant a try. This is what I got today: CALAMANSA COOLER .. (I’m positive I spelled that incorrectly 🫠)….. was ABSOLUTELY DELISH!! Definitely gives Starbee’s refreshers a run for the money. LUMPIA…. They are a large size, a crispy golden brown, with a moist flavorful meat filling. SUPER TASTY CHICKEN ADOBO LUMPIA… Chucks of chicken adobo with rice. It’s wrapped in a crunch lumpia wrapper. Fried to golden brown perfection. You get a large order enough for two. Having had chicken adobo numerous times in my family. I guess did expect a little bit more of a 🧄 garlicky tangy flavor explosion. But it is still very delish to say the least. Do yourself and your tastebuds a favor and go check out Lia’s Lumpia. You will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

I honestly do not understand how this place won Best Filipino Cuisine from San Diego Mag - couldn’t be further from the truth. The food is mediocre and the service has been a huge disappointment every time I have tried giving them a chance. Spencer, the guy working there, always comes off negligent, never friendly and never apologetic. The operating hours are inaccurate. More than once we have shown up when they were supposed to be open only to find the doors closed. One time we even waited an entire hour for our food, and when we finally went back to the counter to ask for a refund, no one was there and they completely ghosted us. The local businesses in the Barrio Logan community said they often get customers that wonder why they’re closed when they’re supposed to be open and generally don’t have positive remarks. Instead of taking responsibility, the attitude toward customers feels hostile, as if it is our fault they are busy. Here is a thought: maybe hire more people if you cannot handle the demand. It is frustrating because I wish there was a truly good Filipino restaurant in this neighborhood, but this place has been nothing but a terrible experience for us personally.

I’m obsessed with the calamnsi chicken wings! It’s a flavor like no other. You can never go wrong with a good flavored chicken wing. We brought my 3 year old neice to eat with us (very picky eater) and she finished her mac n cheese lumpias. We will definitely return to try all of the menu items. Chef owner Spence is very creative and innovative and has an awesome taste palette. We grew up eating Filipino food and what he does with traditional dishes is beyond what we could ever imagine. Can’t wait to try out his newest creations. The atmosphere definitely invites you to stay long after you’ve finished your meal. Parking is very limited so if you want to dine in, plan accordingly. Also, depending on what time you come there may be an extended wait time for food. With some patience, this is the perfect experience!

I really wanted to love this place, but ended up not even being able to finish our food. It started with when we first got their. The lady at the front counter was super nice, but didn't seem to be super familiar with taking food orders and had to repeat things multiple times, in addition to not being able to even say one of their dessert menu items which seemed odd. (Spoiler alert: even after repeating our order a few times, we still didn't get the correct food). The atmosphere was great while we were waiting. The building is decorated well and has plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. The staff working were very pleasant and greeted everyone with smiles. When we got our food we took it and headed for our car since we were planning on enjoying it at home. Upon arriving home and opening up containers, we saw that we weren't given all of the right items. (I know we should've checked our order before we left, but we don't have many issues like this from other places so we didn't even think to). We were given the pork belly tacos instead of the pork belly lumpia. That could've been a simple mistake, it happens. We rolled with it and tried them anyways. The pork belly was pure fat. I know pork belly usually has more fat on it than other cuts of pork, but this was pieces of straight chewy fat that was hard to get through. We also got the Lola's lumpia. The inside of those had decent flavor, but they overall tasted like old fryer grease which made it hard to taste the inside without dissecting it. This place has a million good reviews everywhere, which makes me believe this was maybe just a very off day for them, but I wanted to leave an honest review on here so others can see both sides. I really hope they succeed with their new restaurant storefront, but they definitely have some kinks to...

I strongly advise anyone NOT TO come here if you want a friendly & honest atmosphere to dine in. The guy running the joint who goes by "Spence" is NOT as advertised as the local vlogger has shown promoting this place. Nothing that he told me in person matches anything he said on YouTube. I'm only going by the information given to me, be it Google your website or YouTube. I ordered a chicken adobo lumpia that wasn't listed as "sold out" & you tell me "thats sold out too". I didn't go to a food truck, i went to the Barrio logan home. So of course I'm Not going to like it nor would any other customer if you can't post your hours of operation, communicate what dishes you have available & acknowledge my presence AFTER YOU OPENED for Business. What am I mirage that is to be ignored? I could have gone to bigger chains, but the only reason why I went was b-cuz I wanted to support smaller businesses. Looks like that backfired big time after you copped an attitude Spence. So I ended up canceling any potential orders. Be advised: Spence is going to desperately to try "save his business" by spreading lies about me saying: "He posted a 2:30 opening on his website instead of 1" And if it shows 2:30 now that means he deliberately updated it to discredit & smear me. It sez 1 pm Spence so don't get mad at me for showing up within those hours. Also he claims "I was ignored before he opened" & that's another lie. I mean who wants to deal w/ a perpetual liar like this? There's better places where they'll appreciate...
