Ok, I don't usually write a low star review but this one definitely needs to be put out there. The sandwiches were great, nothing wrong with that but the reason I'm giving 2 STARS IS JUST FOR THE FOOD because these ladies/owners need to take a food handlers course. They don't wear gloves, face mask, hair net or even a hat, I mean you're handling food! The woman named Dena wants to look all pretty with her curly hair all over her face while fixing your sandwiches and the last thing I want on my food is your long curly hair! I think she should stick to the cash register instead. There's another attendant that wears her hair back or in pony tails and that's the way to go. They have been in business for such a long time I don't understand how they're not even practicing these basic food handling standards. We all deserve a bit more effort on that since their prices aren't cheap either. Just because of that, I'm not coming back...
Read moreSo my review is about the prices, not about the taste of the sandwich. I got two 12” turkey club sandwiches(added avocado and bacon), two drinks and two small bags of chips and it totaled to $44!!!! This is outrageously expensive for subs. It’s not like the bacon they added was nice thick cut bacon and the avocado was old. I didn’t argue with the lady at the register because I just wanted to get the heck out of there. I also learned that they are not part of the Submarina franchise. I’m all about supporting Mom and pop shops but I could never get away with charging someone $3 for added avocado and $3 for bacon. That is an extra $6 on top of the $11 or $12 per sandwich that you already paid for!! Shame on me for not checking their prices before ordering.
Yes the sandwiches are a good size, yes they taste great.
Will I return? No. I don’t want to be ripped off for...
Read moreKind of like a Sandwich version of Cheers. Friendly family owned joint for over 40 years. They take pride in their place and have many regular customers. Head to the back of the restaurant near the glass cooler and get in line. Fresh everything and clean. Try the #16 with bacon on Squaw Roll Tierrasanta style. No bathroom, trash outside.A little loud with the fridge there, soft music, slow internet.
What could work better is the signage or directions on where to first get in line. Maybe there could be an arrow where to start as there are many steps to decide in the sandwich making process. I'd also create a QR code so people can easily look on their phones. And maybe use a different sustainable cup option as styrofoam doesn't really align with the 'healthy...
