Tacos El Trompo "A Mexican Tradition" — Restaurant in San Diego

This place needs work asap. My girlfriend and son went in 5/21/24 on a Tuesday for Taco Tuesday hopping to get some cabesa tacos only to be told that they were all out of cabesa. I asked the cashier what tacos do you have her response is there on the wall you can read right here.. . Ok so we settled for some a adobada, carnitas, lengua tacos a carne asada torta and and a Milanesa torta. The lengua tacos tasted like fish!! Seriously fish! the carne asada torta was good, the carnitas were a little dry but not too bad and the adobada was good too. The problem here was the customer service. The attitude coming out of the cashier was bad. So we were looking for green sauce at the sauce bar and they were all out I noticed that they had a container with small sauces for the to go folks I asked a worker of I can grad a couple green sauces and he say she'll give it to you she says can I help you? I asked if I could grab a green sauce from the container, and she starts giving me a lecture on how the sauce was at the bar and I say I'm sorry I think your all out or there all being used. Luckily a CUSTOMER head it all and quickly returned one of the green sauces. Then she says there you go! Wow at this point I decided to check in on Yelp so I can remember to write a review. Then I got a coupon for a free can soda I asked the cashier if she would honor the cupon she says aww I'm sorry we don't do that anymore that was like 2 years ago not any more. I then say ok, thank you. And walk away to find out that they shorted us 2 adobada tacos I gave up at this point I was scared to even ask for them so we just left it as is. This place get pretty busy I understand but I don't believe that should give the right to treat your customers like 3rd graders. Seriously. I traveled about 15 miles from IB Imperial Beach to this place because I've been there before and for the most part the tacos are good, but after this encounter I'll never be back and yes like I said this place is usually fairly busy but if this is the way you're treating your customers I'm sure I'm not the only customer who's decided no to come back. The lady at the front ignored us standing at the front waiting to order. She was doing other tasks, but it's really easy to say hi I'll be with you shortly. Not turning your back to everyone. That's customer service. The fish tacos were really dry and hard to swallow this time really strange. They tasted reheated, the food is usually pretty good. Now the really disheartening and disgusting behavior comes. A man came in he was homeless and struggling to stand. He wasn't intoxicated, beligerant, or doing anything wrong. He was stopped and asked what he was doing rudely and loudly for everyone to hear. He asked is this where I order? I'd like to order, the lady spits out a rude yeah. He orders asks how much it is takes money out to pay for his food. Lady hands him the receipt and loudly says it's to go okay!! Unbelievable how degrading and disgusting. He's a human being doing nothing wrong and has money to pay for his food. Nasty behavior. He stood there struggling to stand looked like he was in pain. Pulled a seat out for him to sit down at our table while waiting. Treat people with respect and dignity. He did nothing wrong was not disrespectful or intoxicated. Chairs and tables can be wiped down they should be regardless of who sits at them. I don't see myself returning here I'm so disappointed and shocked. I usually bring any family and friends visiting for food but sadly I won't be anymore. Everyone deserves...

I hate to have to rate one of my favorite go to taco shops with only three stars I come all the way from Chula Vista for their vampiros and mulitas i mean they are worth it if you haven’t tried I recommend them just don’t go when the register lady with highlights is there ,you can tell the cook really takes his time however my reason for the three stars is for the horrible customer service I got while ordering my food a lady with highlights in the mornings took my order not only once but twice she has been so rude she throws change at me she has rolled her eyes at me and my 6year old daughter who was undecided on what she wanted to order and repeatedly asked in Spanish if I was ready to order when clearly my daughter wasn’t mind you there was no one behind us they need to remove her she’s bad for the business I will not be returning for awhile it’s a shame to have someone so rude with no manners represent your company :( so yeah my three stars is for the cook and quality of the food not...
