West Coast Confection — Restaurant in San Diego

West Coast Confection will literally surpass any expectations you already currently have by looking at pictures of their INSANE blondies/brownies. Pictures will not and never will do them justice. I came across this company years ago when they have their standard 4 flavors. When I received it in the mail, I could not believe my eyes lol I have never seen a bigger blondie in my life. The size is insane, but typically larger treats would be inevitably a bit dried out etc. Welp, NOT West Coast Confection. Regardless of the flavor, that bad boy is literally soft and chewy AF. And I don’t know how!!!! Especially when they stuff literal FULL donuts in the middle….. 💀 I keep mine in the freezer in an attempt to not eat the whole thing (let alone both) in one sitting when I go to “just try a bite” of each before putting them away (failing every time…) and even out of the freezer and thawing for 3-5 mins and basically still frozen, they are soft inside!!!! It’s insane.

Their product absolutely speaks for itself, but even moreso is the owners (and bakers) behind it all. They are my favorite part of this company and makes me not feel so bad about literally spending all my money on their blondies 😂 they are the kindest, most generous, and truly the most GENUINE humans I have ever come across in a small business. They truly are too generous, and probably could make even more money off of their products and customers but they are genuinely not about that. They love their customers and are all about making people happy. I’ve never met two people more aligned with their “tag line” of spread love, eat blondies. They spread so much love!!!! Best customer service ever. And they do that on their own too, like what?! How?!?

YOU WILL NOT ONLY NOT BE DISAPPOINTED, YOU WILL BE MINDBLOWN. Could not recommend West Coast...

Nothing but sugar bombs here. Chock full of way too much sugar. Every item I have tried so far is basically like sweet chips of some kind and then some dough. Seriously bakers? The sugar level is out of control here. And I have kindly asked for something less sweet and was met with a dismissive reply. I would so appreciate just a regular cookie without the 1/4 pound of chips in there. There are like 50 items but apparently none can have less than 1/2 pound of sugar in them. How about something for the rest of the people who don't have a childs craving for sugar. There are other options in the area, I probably will not patronize this place anymore.

1/20/24: Ohhhh too bad these poor babies had to close down! . Yup. Walked by the other day going to a different establishment and saw the hand written sad sign in the door way. Perhaps they should have been more open to their honest and reasonable customers feedback and been more willing to be flexible to other "confections" that were not altogether gross sugar bombs catering to the sugar taste needs of of a child. There is nothing special or culinary in just massive sugar level and throwing everything and the kitchen sink into some weird concoctions. Just sugar. Oh well. No big loss, Hopefully you learned from your experience............good...

I know lots of people love this company and will continue to do so, but customer service is a big thing for me, no matter how good a product is.

Recently in their Instagram stories they posted about going to have extras of some bars and to stay tuned. I mentioned I had wanted one of the two bars that was going to be available. A couple days later, they posted to availability of two bars and to message to claim. I messaged again my interest, but was told it was sold out.

Ironically I private messaged with a couple others who got their hands on them, asking how they did. They too also mentioned their interest with the original post and were told they would hold some for them if there were extras, never having to "claim" after the second posting.

Why wasn't I given that opportunity? I told WCC I wished they would be fair with the opportunity and they responded that they sell out in minutes with the extras (obviously they didn't know I had this information).

It's a disappointment they treat customers differently. I'm glad for others that can enjoy them and can get what they want, but I'll take my business elsewhere, including the custom order I had already inquired about doing...
