I have had a love affair with sushi for more than 40 years and have lived in many cities (not in Japan). This is hands-down the most delicate, well-crafted, and wonderful sushi I have ever had, delivered a relaxed atmosphere. It is not about size but quality (for you guys out there lol). I have always drowned my sushi in a mix of soy sauce and wasabi, but here I have had food and taste revelations. Order anything without fear, Yama will craft a delicacy. All have been amazing. Highlights: aji, takoyaki, salmon-skin and negihama handrolls, and I’ve never had better miso soup or unagi. Finally, the staff is lovely, and if you like low-decible level 80s hits, this is the...

Highly recommend! We enjoyed the Rainbow Sushi Roll, Green muscles plate and Alaskan sushi roll s. Absolutely fresh, beautifully prepared, served by the daughters of the family with great care and delight. Seated immediately. Immediate freeway access to 5 fwy. EZ and plentiful parking. Don't let the subtle beige double doors fool you, this was a very lovely, authentic experience! So pleased this delightful family worked hard and survived the pandemic years against all odds. VERY reasonable prices, so be SURE to tip well! We LOVE supporting local, quality, family business. Places like Yoshinos are the backbone of our local economy and our national pride. And so...

The sushi here was delicious. If you're looking for straightforward sushi rolls etc without spending a fortune, this is a great spot to visit. They could improve a couple things, namely their paper menu could use some photos of the food to show it off or even a QR code menu would be more helpful than just a list of things without details. The atmosphere was fine, it wasn't anything fancy or modern. The location and appearance of the building kinda had me concerned, but again the food was great. All they need is a renovation! Also maybe more sound blockers in the ceiling, because we could hear the martial arts place upstairs as people...

We’ve come here for decades… It’s our go-to for Japanese in the greater Hillcrest / Mission Hills / Bankers Hill vicinity. Right near the airport, it’s convenient for travelers picking up rental cars nearby. I’ll try to remember to snap some pics and add them here in future visits. Stan favorites: > edamame > goyza (theirs has a nicely spicy dipping sauce — might be able to request less(?) > teriyaki + tempura bento boxes are wonderful! > specialty rolls: + partial to Spicy Crunchy, Rainbow Rolls,.. and more!! ENJOY!!!

The food here is really good. Honestly a bit of a hidden gem. I do wish the music was more authentic but the volume of it is low enough to make this a relaxing, calm eating experience. I ordered a sashimi entrée and it didn't come with the salad, but the waitress was kind enough to bring it out once I showed her the menu. Getting a side or rice with the entrée is also a nice change from other Japanese restaurants. My one complaint may be the price, but I did order a sake that was 18 dollars alone.

Lovely Japanese restaurant! I absolutely loved the vibe of this place, it was so cozy and homey. The tempura udon was amazing! The broth was so rich, yet fresh and clean. I drank the entire soup after my noodles were eaten. Some of the vegetables in the vegetable tempura could’ve been cooked longer but it was good regardless. The katsu chicken was delicious and I loved the bean sprout salad that went along. Our server was so nice and they went above and beyond to make us comfortable.
