From the moment that my Wife and I walked into Leo Hamel Jewelry, we were both so very impressed with just how wonderfully well treated we were!

We live in the Mission Bay area of San Diego, so we chose the Leo Hamel location on San Diego Avenue, in the Eastern end of Old Town.

The parking was easy, right out on the street in front of their building with no parking meters to worry about. Plus!

Of course, the real value, was just inside the doors! What a terrific presentation Leo Hamel’s offers their clients. Certainly, their clientele comes for the outstanding selection of truly exquisite jewelry!

My Wife and I were in search of an extremely competent jewelry repair. My Darling Wife of 42 years had striped the Diamonds right off her Wedding Ring during a recent vacation visit to Washington’s Deception Pass State Park. Our walk on the Park’s North Beach ended in a “Ring Emergency” with an errant branch literally ripping the gem stones from their settings! Ouch!

Rebuilding our cherished ring was the only choice! Our Wedding Ring represented our Love, our Family, our four grown children and our Six Grandchildren.

Enter Logan Eaquinta, our Leo Hamel Sales professional. Logan was fantastic! She took such loving care of us, giving my Wife every consideration, as she skillfully guided us through the process of resurrecting our dear old friend to its former glory!

Logan carefully explained the GIA’s four “C’s” of Diamond Quality; Carat Weight, Color Grade, Clarity Grade, and Cut Grade! Logan was so very kind in describing the Diamond choices she sat before us. Logan showed us how each of Leo Hamel’s Diamonds are chosen to fulfill their client’s every desire!

It was Logan, who found us our new Diamond! She has made my Wife So incredibly happy!

Then the work began; literally cutting the ring off my Wife’s finger, the first time that it had been off in 42 years!

Leo’s Master Jewelers took our ring, paired with its new Diamond. Then they attached the beautiful new double ring guard to the lovely ring that a young US Army Recruit bought his Fiancée, all those years before!

At first, I arrived at the other building, concerned that I would be met with an intimidating environment full of suits sporting Rolex watches or the like. Refreshingly, I was given a sincerely friendly welcome from Chelsea who greeted me like any other person, with kindness. Jennifer likewise advised me regarding my piece with an air of effortless and assumed honesty, which I really valued.

The floor had less of an inaccessible vibe and more of a professional setting where people gathered to appreciate precious articles neatly displayed within glass compartments. Virtually no pretentiousness nor artificially inflated egos. Indeed, the business truly felt like the people's jewelry store while also maintaining an excellent level of finesse.

Now, the establishment where the testing actually took place was quite the fun visit. Here I came as a nerd trying to figure out the contents of my ornamental D20, and to my joy and surprise, the evaluator Kelly apparently had experience actually playing D&D and recognized exactly what I had on hand, to my relief, and later advised me on how I could better find the percentages of the precious metals that constituted my intricate die (by the way, she still rolls like a champion with two back-to-back "19"). Anna was also very diligent about inspecting my piece with care and was heartwarmingly polite and friendly.
