Indoor and outdoor seating available.
Staff is friendly. Staff is constantly cleaning and wiping down tables. Beware if you are taking up a prime indoor table, please be courteous, finish eating and socialize outside. You do not need the staff to appear to rush you out.
Water served in mason jars... I like that small farm feel.

We ordered the following (in order of BEST to OK):
Fried Chicken Benedict $19: 2 biscuits, topped with fried boneless chicken, topped with 2 sunny side eggs covered in golden hollandaise sauce. Served with a side of fried potatoes. Winner Winner Chicken "dinner" for breakfast. Very rich and filling. The potatoes were perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside with a soft middle. The Benedict itself was really good... traditional Hollandaise sauce over eggs... yummy add a fried chicken to that... you scored
Croissant French Toast $15: the croissant was not battered and fried like a normal French Toast. The fresh strawberry along with the blueberry compote made this dish pretty tasty for those with a sweet tooth at breakfast. I did not notice the mascarpone filling that was in the description. We did not even add any syrup.
Nasi Goreng $16 - Indonesian/Malaysian/Bali Fried Rice... this dish is topped with a piece of fried boneless chicken then capped with 2 over easy fried eggs. The Chicken and eggs are really good. The Nasi Goreng is not what I would call Nasi Goreng. It was more of a rice pilaf... there were noodle bits and what looked like pine nuts. Color was more yellow than the normal brown you would expect in a Nasi Goreng. There was an absence of any sort of heat in the dish... I could not taste any chili... thank goodness there was a bottle of sriracha at the table... that really saved the dish.
*Note the winner of this meal is the boneless fried chicken... crispy batter, juicy and tender dark meat.... PERFECT. I would order the fried chicken ala carte (you can do this) take it to my car and just plain pig out on it.
There is a single unisex restroom. A little dark but really clean. Not sure if the scooter in there is décor or they are using it...
Read moreAs devoted brunch enthusiasts and proud San Francisco locals, our visit to Cracked & Battered left us deeply disappointed and disheartened.
Our order included a promising wide array of dishes: french toast, pancakes, waffle, chicken, eggs, coffee, potatoes, fries, and orange juice. This place was highly rated so we went all in and were super excited.
To start, the coffee I ordered had a hair in it, a hygiene oversight that is simply inexcusable. Adding to the disappointment, the chicken was served cold. The French toast was not just below par; it was so unappetizing that I had to forcibly spit it out. The eggs, ordered with specific preferences (scrambled hard), were improperly cooked, further contributing to our dissatisfaction.
What made matters even more disheartening was the owner's complete lack of concern. She appeared indifferent to our concerns and had an attitude that demonstrated a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. Her nonchalant demeanor as we witnessed her casually munching on fries while handling cups and straws, without bothering to wash her hands, was nothing short of alarming. To add to our dismay, flies were everywhere, landing on our food, including our fries. This unsanitary condition in the dining area only exacerbated our unpleasant experience. When I voiced my concerns and politely asked for accommodation, the owner seemed displeased and unwilling to make amends.
As loyal locals who cherish the brunch culture in San Francisco, we expected much more from Cracked & Battered. We sincerely hope they take these issues seriously, especially the owner's attitude, the hygiene concerns, and the need for customer satisfaction, and make the necessary improvements to offer a brunch experience that lives up to the standards we hold dear in...
Read moreCame here with 2 friends looking for breakfast. We originally were trying to go to Plow, but we're impatient, which brought us here.
There was no wait, and we were hungry. Unfortunately, it was a wrong place wrong time situation.
We sat wherever we wanted and used our phones to look at the menu as well as order. It's a bit odd because I tipped before I got the food and service. I like to tip after the fact to see if service and quality of food merited it, but I also didn't want to do 0 tip thinking I was gonna get my food spit on.
Anyways, options are limited, and there's no focal point. I saw Nasi Goreng, American breakfast options without sausage or bacon and Vietnamese coffee? I ordered a viet iced coffee and pancakes to keep it simple.
The food sucked for what they were charging. Nothing is special about it, so I guess you're paying simply for convenience and someone else preparing and cleaning. None of us finished our food or took it to go. The table was a bit sticky, which was disappointing for a place that wasn't even busy.
Now, here was the odd part. It was someone's birthday, and they just out of nowhere cranked a radio at full blast to sing happy birthday. It was so awkward and made our party but another party that was trying to get seated so uncomfortable. The other party had a little kid who literally started crying. The parents had to move away from the entrance. Some warning would have been nice. I would have rescinded my tip if I could, but again, I already paid in the beginning when I ordered. We literally just walked out.
I'm never coming back here and don't recommend this place. Save yourself the hassle, wait for Plow, make breakfast at home, or go literally...
