It's been a long long time since I've felt the need to be petty and write a negative yelp review but here we go... I first realized C&W had a bayview location by chance, I've been living here 4+ years and drove by and spotted it one day earlier this year. I walked in that day excited that I had another great coffee shop within 5 blocks of my house. I order an iced vanilla latte and get the stankiest hipster "uh we don't do flavors here"... my sincerest apologies for offending you. I kept trying to talk to the woman and wasn't getting much back and figured fine, you're a hipster coffee shop in bayview, do your thing, be rude to me and I'll keep paying because it's convenient. From that experience up until today I've probably spent a couple hundred dollars in there. The younger guy that works there is always super nice but I always get the vibe that the two women there are itching to tell me to go screw myself as I walk out with my $5 latte and $4 pastry each time I'm there.
I spend 50% of my month traveling as an artist, and my hometown of SF Is the only time I experience this rude vibe at coffee shops. Read moreI tried their Cocoa Carrot Muffin, Stumptown Nitro Brew, sipping chocolate with seasonal marshmallow and an added espresso shot (I asked : ) making it a Hulk Smash of a mocha, and their Rebel Within (recommend it warm). We also got a travel cake and croissant to go. Everything we tried was delicious and the baked goods were very fresh. I'm a huge fan of Neighbor Bakehouse and would certainly put this up there. They also have a strong coffee selection including this beauty: Black Tonic (espresso, tonic water, and lemon). The convenience to home and ample street parking will have me coming back. Most importantly, they're now open on the weekend and have awesome folks working behind...
Read moreOne of my favorite bakeries! I've had many items on their baked goods menu: Rebel Within, Veggie Rebel, Croissant (Valrhona Dark Chocolate and Classic), Morning Bun, Pain Maison. My daughters especially love their Pill - Killer Bee, Brownie, basically all of their layered cakes. Right now at The Den location, they have Pumpkin muffins which are just so delicious with cinnamon, nutmeg and dates. They're perfect. Parking is challenging at The Den, but it's worth a trip. They are at other locations, including at two farmers' markets - Ferry Plaza and California Ave in Palo Alto. The family and staff are...
