El Azteca Taqueria — Restaurant in San Francisco

IMPORTANT NOTE: CASH ONLY. This place has been great. My first time here today for lunch on a quick run through town. This is one of those counter service style taquerias where the ingredients are all hot behind the glass similar to a Chipotle setup. They have all the staples and a particularly large Shrimp based menu. The staff was friendly and efficient during the order process and when I asked her to make it spicy she definitely knew what to do. I got a carnitas super burrito which comes wrapped in foil with chips on a plate. The burrito was tasty, well wrapped and well proportioned for maximum flavor. The meat was tender and well prepared. Important to know that El Azteca ( The Aztec) is located in the Bayview Neighbor of San Francisco. The neighborhood is evolving but it still has its African American cultursl charm. I have been eating at the Taqueria for over 12 years and i have never had a problem with the food or service. The Chicken Mole is my favorite and The Pollo Asado is my second choice. My recommendation is ordering a baby burrito because this is huge. The Taqueria interior is clean and i particularly enjoy the Murals and Cesar Chavez homage. There are ethnic Chinese shops everywhere and it is nice when ethnic Hispanic business owners respect the historical residents or American customer base. I had a feeling that the food quality was consistent for them.
