At a Sunday event in the Mission, an acquaintance showed up with a big pink Le Dix Sept Patisserie box of pastries. He didn’t share :( The pink box itself put me on an alert. A bakery I hadn’t tried yet (!)…I scurried over asap and found this super cute shop on 18th St between Mission & Capp Streets. All their goods looked photo worthy, but taste? I found the day’s camomile & kumquat cake slice to be pretty. The cake itself was very dense and heavy. Very disappointing. However the yummy butter cream was bright and citrusy. I also bought two cookies. The cardamom chocolate chip which used some alternative flour (it seemed). The cookie was dense and chewy. Okay. The other was a matcha coconut cookie. This was the winner of the bunch. Moist and chewy with a pale green color. It’s what a cookie should be. I suppose Le Dix-Sept is a gluten-free or wheat free patisserie since the baked goods I tried had different than norm textures and little sweetness (less sugar?) in their cookie or cake bases. I’m open to all but high priority for me is flavor. 3 Stars for flavor 4 Stars for ambiance 4 Stars for service If alternative baked goods are what you’re looking for or need, here is a bakery for you.

Was delighted to discover this refreshing indentation off Mission Street that presents itself as a picture perfect alcove splashed with decidedly doll house raspberry pink details pressed against natural wood planks. The vibe is almost backyard bake sale with pastries displayed on plates propped up on a large table such that you’d expect to see lemon meringue pies, bundt cakes and maybe even toll house cookies, but instead there are high end Francophile goodies including seldom sold canelés. Their potato galette was an unexpected take on a tarte au pomme but as a savory offering was particularly tasty. The scones, a raisin cranberry and a ginger cheese were hearty, especially large, and glazed to create a nice balance of crunch and crumble with spots of intense flavor. The offerings change daily depending on artistic whims and current market availability of special ingredients so can’t wait to get back and check out what new inspirations await.

Le Dix-Sept will delight all your senses. It’s a must visit for any pastry loving foodie in SF. From the charming pink window front and plant oasis sidewalk seating, to the mouthwatering inventive botanical selection of pastries and drinks, to the current French playlist beats - Le Dix Sept is the pastry shop vibe SF needs. Everything pastry chef Michelle Hernandez concocts is delicious. Best cannelé in SF by far. And don’t miss out on her cloud like fluffy focaccia. Michelle is an artist with flavor and presentation - a testament to her training in Paris. She’s also amazing at bringing themed desserts to life for custom parties and events. No matter the theme, Le Dix Sept delivers pastry greatness. I can’t recommend this place more highly.

Wow! What an impressive line up of beautiful treats for just about any palate. My all time favorite is the cannele — a true delicacy and made with love to sheer perfection EVERY. TIME. The teddy bear brioche is a treat for the whole family and is quite versatile — French toast, sandwiches, toasted w jam, etc. Or just nestle a hump in your hand and gobble it up in the car as you drive away! Each of the cookies toots it’s own personality which makes getting an assortment always a hit for friends and family.

The savory galettes and focaccia pizzas are full of robust flavor and truly lovely textures. Even the drinks are a treasure — the iced lavender mocha is amazing!

Destined to even more greatness, this shoppe keeps bringing in the show stoppers and I’m here for it! Can’t wait until the shoppe is open for customers to sit and enjoy since the location is great, the vibe is lovely and I always feel so good being around owner and chef...
