I’ve been getting sandwiches regularly from here for a year now. Plus, I often bring groups of friends here as well. However, today (01/27) around 1pm, the employee with glasses and a medium black and white beard was very rude to me.
I simply asked him to hold the mustard and nothing else. He then snapped with, “Did you just tell me what you want?” I politely said yes, starting to feel uncomfortable. He then harshly said, “Well, then you don’t need to tell me what you don’t want.” I was surprised that I was being flexed on just for asking him to hold the mustard. It’s funny because the only reason why I made this request in the first place is because they put a heavy amount of mustard on my last sandwich when I didn’t even ask for it. After I endured his condescension and rudeness, I politely walked out and took my money to one of the numerous sandwich spots close by.
Although this employee cost the owner a lot of future profit from me, it ended up being a positive. I discovered my new go to sandwich spot just a short walk away that doesn’t push power trips on their customers.
There are just as good and even better options close by that won’t treat you poorly. I don’t...
Read moreI feel lucky that I found this place today. I had been thinking about buying some sandwich supplies but dreading a trip to Safeway, Whole foods etc. Not 30 seconds later, I ended up passing this place. I saw Deli on the sign and thought; it must be Fate.
It's a well stocked little store with reasonable prices and best of all, fresh meats, cheese and breads. I had a sandwich expertly made (as you can see) by the Owner,(?) or Corner-Store employee of the year. I just told him, I wanted something with salami and all the Fixin's. He gave me a sample of some Black forest ham, which I thought was really good. So he threw some of that on there too. I also bought some garlic hummus, which is made in-house, along with a variety of other hummus'. All in all I was impressed with the quality. Happy I stopped by and I think you should...
Read moreI live down the street and shop here almost everyday. The owners are extremely friendly, their deli sandwiches are great (the NY Pastrami is formidable but excellent and I often balance it out on other days with their vegetarian on dutch crunch which is surprisingly hearty enough to work toasted or cold). They also make their own hummus that can be found over near the deli, for a more exotic flavor try the black sesame.
I have been in the neighborhood for almost 10 years now and the transformation they have done to both the market and the variety of food offered is a blessing for the neighborhood - the deli was not even there before, they built and added it last year. This review is completely unsolicited. Thank you Joe, family,...
