My wife and 1 year old son showed up for lunch on 4/12/25 around 3:15 PM, an older lady server was attending us. We ordered food and a drink. My son was quietly playing with one of the restaurants menus waving it around (paper menu in a plastic sleeve). The lady server walked up to our table quickly and abruptly snatched the menu from my son's hand, turned around and left the table without saying a word. My wife and I were caught off guard and looked at each other as we were processing what just happened. When the lady walked by my wife asked her if there was a children's coloring book for my son to play with. The lady said "no" but that there were children's books instead (she pointed to the stack of books 12" away from her and then walked away). Wife and I were upset and had lost our appetite. We canceled our order with another server and said we would pay for the drink they brought out to us that we didn't even touch. The lady came out and asked if something was wrong. I told her I did not like how she snatched the menu from son. She apologized but said that they are trying to not have the menus get crinkled. I told her I understood but that she should have came to ME and not taken matters into her own hands. She apologized, told me that paying for the drink was not necessary and we left.
The restaurant seemed nice with a good vibe but something that could have been easily avoided with basic customer service completely ruined our experience and desire to be patrons there ever again. We ended up going to Elena's Mexican Restaurant on West Portal, now THAT was a wonderful experience with great food and even better service. If you want a trendy restaurant with great cocktails, and delicious food go to Elena's Mexican Restaurant.

Read moreI came here for a late meal, and ordered branzino with seafood stew. The fish was quite a bit smaller than what I was expecting for $36, and the bowl of seafood stew I was told would come with the meal was actually just that small circle of shellfish enclosed by the branzino.
With that said, the seafood stew was pretty good. The main dish, branzino, however, was undercooked, which is why there were two different photos of the same dish.
Service was good from one server, but not much from the other. The waiter asked if I needed some chips, while the waitress simply brought them and told me that the sauce was a bit spicy. Little difference I know, but I felt more welcome by the waitress.
And also, although the waiter was the one who took my order and served the undercooked fish, the waitress was the one hwo kept apologizing: I said it was no big deal, because neither the waiter nor the waitress prepared the meal, obviously.
Overall, I think if food quality can improve, I would definitely recommend this place, since the view can be pretty...
