Together Wine Lounge Dogpatch — Restaurant in San Francisco

I really enjoyed our visit to Gather. It’s a bit unassuming, so easy to miss but if you’re in the Dogpatch/Potrero Hill/Mission Bay area and looking for a quiet wine bar to unwind at, Gather is perfect.

My favorite things:

1/2 pour glasses so you don’t have to commit to a full glass if you didn’t choose a wine you like, though I’m sure the staff would happily change out for you. Actual tasty and decent sized small plates. For $11 we were able to get a plate with slices of duck, pear, and crackers to go alongside. My partner and I were waiting to go here and thrilled when we finally found a time. We went about 8pm on a Saturday, definitely towards the end of their service. The place is cutely decorated and has promise, however who I assume was the owner had taken over one of the largest tables in the place and was loudly conducting business like arguing with a kitchen staff member. He then refused us any tables that were 4 tops - they had at least 4 open with no other new customers. I understand if it’s tight or busy but no one else came in so we could have easily taken one without issue. Not to mention the “office” he was using was a 4 top he could have given up.. Such a gem to have in the neighborhood! The staff are all amazing and welcoming - no wine snobbery here! The atmosphere is so inviting and comfortable - you really feel like Rob, the owner, has invited you into his home. I love the variety of choices on the menu and the fact that they are also working in conjunction with another neighborhood favorite, Marcella’s, to offer their amazing lasagna on Wednesdays and Fridays.
