The food here, as with other locations, is excellent. And the staff are super friendly and service is fast. They have multiple major problems though. Firstly, they have an identity crisis. While they are certainly popular at lunch (so much so that they stop taking on line orders - a separate problem I won’t even begin to address here) they have a space clearly designed for more dine in full service at dinner time, yet still operate in a takeout manner. There is a nice bar to sit at with no one to serve you. Secondly, the staff (again, very nice) are rather clueless. I dined there on a very chilly February evening and sat there while a group of more than a dozen stood in the doorway, blocking any ingress or egress (a fire hazard) with the door propped wide open and cold air rushing in while they were waiting for takeout, and not a single employee thought to do anything about it. I politely asked one of them to shut the door, and was ignored. This place has some...
Read moreBeautiful and cozy outpost of this SF fast casual staple! Souvla has always been a favorite, with its outstanding salads, pitas, and frozen yogurt. My go-to is their vegetarian salad, which is absolutely loaded with tons of fresh greens, cheese, olives, nuts, and roasted white sweet potato. You can also get any salad Greek style and add a solid helping of fries on top for just $1 — a great choice if you don’t want to have an entire side of fries but still want something crispy. The salads are pretty big, so they can often be multiple meals (or one meal and a snack), especially if you get them with fries :). This location is especially fun — I love how wide and open the space is, especially with their super high ceilings. The overall vibe is almost industrial chic, but they also have this really fun tree encased in glass in the center of their back wall. The team is awesome and super efficient and friendly — can’t wait...
Read morePretty disappointed at this new location/experience. Ordered 2 glasses of wine, cheese, and the dips (from Meze menu). Price was about $70 with tip. The dips came out with only a couple crackers which meant we were left with quite a bit of leftover dip. When we asked for a more crackers, we were told it would be $5. We paid it (to avoid eating dip with a spoon?) but got only 4 more. Still not enough to finish it… This was an $18 item on the menu mind you. Similar issue with the cheese and pita. I’ve always loved Souvla for their wraps and salads. And the staff are always great/very friendly! But this new location/menu was very disappointing for the...
