Nem Summer Roll, the newly opened sister shop of Summer Roll in Temple City, brings the same delicious flavors to a fresh, modern space. Located in a chic shopping plaza next to Paris Baguette, the interior is bright and inviting, with well-lit decor that feels contemporary and welcoming.
The menu mirrors that of its sibling locations, with the notable addition of pho. We went with our usual favorites—banh beo and grilled pork with broken rice and an egg roll. The flavors were just as tasty and consistent with the other branches, though we did notice that the banh beo here was slightly overcooked, making the texture a bit firmer than ideal. · The Good: The food is genuinely fantastic. We've been coming here since iy opened because of it. · The Bad: The service is consistently slow, inattentive, and unenthusiastic. · The Ugly: The owner is the core of the problem. He is consistently grouchy and has created a negative environment. He has even expressed that he hates owning the restaurant, which is shocking to hear as a customer.
We've given Nem numerous chances, but every dine-in experience is disappointing. Needing to beg for a water refill is the standard. The owner's terrible attitude makes the meal uncomfortable, and it's simply not worth it anymore. We will not...
