Under new management: Decided to revisit this staple after the old management had retired and sold the business hoping that they left their recipes and secrets with the sale. I can say confidently that they did not. While they still use the building, decor and menus, that’s where the similarities end. We got both the el dorado and tostada goodie and neither were anything like the old versions. The el dorado came out looking promising but once you started to eat it something was off. The sauce poured over the top was not the same as the old version and some of the included ingredients were missing from the inside of the burrito. Also the chicken inside was over cooked and did not taste fresh and the sour cream tasted spoiled. As for the tostada goopie, it also had changed to be now about half the size for the same price. Before you had a tower of food on top of a freshly fried taco shell but now it’s essentially an overstuffed taco that was not folded on a plate drizzled in sauce. We had high hopes that it would live up to the history of dining I had experienced for years but unfortunately this was not the case. Under old management: Been coming here forever and it never disappoints. Tostada goopie or el Dorado are the way to go if you're hungry. Great tacos as well. Try not to fill up on the chips because it will be hard to resist

After I pick up my wife work we were very hungry and my wife was craving for caldo or soup then I remember a friend told a restaurant on Las Tunas Dr in San Gabriel. He have been going to the restaurant for years he told me the food is really good then my wife and I headed to the restaurant. We arrive at the restaurant and looks old traditional restaurant from Mexico that I remember when we to Mexico. We got seated right Way the interior have classic look that we like then waiter came and hand us the menu and ask us our drinks order my wife order a Hibiscus drink then I order a Mexico coke bottle. Then we order my wife order the caldo de Pollo or chicken soup and also order a bean and cheese burrito then I order a Chili renello plate one of my favorite dishes. Then the waiter brought our food it looks and smell really good. I took a bite of my chili renello it was really good lots of flavor in the chile and also the sauce and especially the cheese it was good and chewy that's the kind-of cheese I like. The rice and beans were full of flavor that I really like and comes with a salad with avocado on top. My wife enjoy her caldo de Pollo or chicken soup also comes with freshly made tortillas. We enjoy our meal at Casa Callderon we need come back again.

It was my friend birthday, and I told him to decide where to eat. This was the place he decided, for me it was my first time, to many items to choose but at the end just decided to get a wet burrito de al pastor with some fried and horchata to drink .The birthday got a regular burrito with a Michelada his girl got some shrimp and a corona and his daughter un taco. It wasn't busy. The food took a bit come out. They enjoyed the food that what matter to be. Now time for my review, the food took sometime, when the food arrived, the order of fries was saggy, and it was a bit warm, not crispy. My wet burrito was ok, just that al pastors didn't taste like al pastors , it tasted different. The horchata was ok Overall 4.2

OPEN AT 6AM*

I was very excited to try this restaurant for the very first time now that they are open at a convent time of 6AM. Perfect for a guy like me who just got off a graveyard shift. The place seems to be under new management. Being the first customer of the day, I had the pleasure of getting to meet the proprietors of this place and they were very nice people. They seem very eager to deliver a personal level of service and eager to listen to honest opinions that can help improve the level of service and quality of food to the level of the customer's total satisfaction. I enjoyed the service and food during my first of many future visits. The owner said something that really impressed me before concluding my first vist.. “Come back, consider this place like your home!” I highly recommend that you try this down home restaurant and give them your patronage, honest feedback to make it successful in making it your hometown restaurant like I have just done. It is very hard to find places like this, who deliver such great and a personal level of...
