I ordered the food to go for the first time at this establishment, near my parents' home, although I live in the great red state of TX nowadays, howdy y'all. Anyways, damn good food beats the crap out of all the inexcusable measley mess of frozen slop they provide in most north desi restaurants or even the southie places in our good 'ole US of A. This reminds of the better places in India or the UK or NZ... I've gotta say nice taste and spiciness from the butter chicken and achar soy romali roti combos. It was frickin great and decent portions. Guys nice touch with dahi, mint chutney, and a little side onion kachumber to accompany. The food style is not typical northie style which all have what seems like the same food and menu, maybe they distribute to each other the same frozen food across the US I'll be back when in town and walk over since you're a neighborhood spot when I'm local, that's a bonus from my days growing up in SJC when there were like 3 Indian families around and no serious Asian food but alas it's more crowded (downside) with lots of food variety (upside) be happy in life you just can't win bank balance or not. Owner(s) don't F up a good thing yo! Make Cali proud to have such a place but you guys picked a crap center for parking, btw it's always been crappy parking there. I'll be back to try out more ... To all those either fake or excessively critical reviews like the one chick who said "I put yogurt on chole and I can't taste chole" or the one who said not much taste cause she ate the broccoli...for goodness sake its broccoli and what happens when you put too much yogurt on food? All I can say is without making it myself, this place was very good and the...
Read moreAtulya Bharat popped up in my search while looking for something to eat over the weekend. The high ratings and some reviews most definitely helped. Not the biggest of venues and the decor is minimal. There is a self serve station for water, cutlery and napkins. Parking can be a bit challenging; the parking lot has a strange layout and not a whole lot of spaces.
#IndianEats: ~ Dahi Puri - 5/5 These were amazing! Light, fluffy ans crispy, yet packed with flavor. Mint, yougurt and spices = delish Indian street food!
~ Aaloo Tikki Chaat - 4.5/5 Potato topped with a delish Chutney & Chickpeas. So many flavors...just a bowl of deliciousness.
~ Afghani Soya Chaap - 4.5/5 I'm not sure what I ate...but I absolutely approve...lol. I thought I came here for some Indian food, but I'll devour it if its tasty. And tasty Afghani Soya Chaap most definitely was! Warning: This dish does have a bit of heat to it, it creeps up. Nothing unreasonable...more on the milder side, but its there...
~ Nimbu Chicken - 5/5 This took a little bit longer to come out... actually it came out last...and DAYUMN!!! Talk about save the best for last! Juicy, moist, tender boneless Chicken with soooo much flavor! The star of the show!! If there is only one dish you can or must get from here, its the Nimbu Chicken!
~ Gulab Jamun - 3.5/5 Not my favourite of the Indian desserts. This was pretty good, not overly sweet.
Can't wait to try the rest...
Read moreIf you’re craving rich, flavorful Indian food that hits all the right notes, Atulya Bharat is where you want to be. From the moment you walk in, the warm aromas of cumin, cardamom, and freshly baked naan let you know you’re in for something special.
We started with the samosas—crispy, golden, and generously stuffed with spicy potato and peas. The tamarind chutney that came with it added the perfect tangy-sweet kick. For mains, we ordered the butter chicken and Malai chicken tikka and Shrimp tikka , both served with fluffy basmati rice. The butter chicken was creamy and comforting, with just enough spice to keep things interesting, while the lamb was melt-in-your-mouth tender and deeply flavorful.
The garlic naan was a must—pillowy, buttery, and perfect for scooping up every last bit of sauce. For dessert, we tried the gulab jamun, which were warm, syrup-soaked, and completely addictive.
The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the ambiance was cozy but not cramped. Prices were fair for the generous portions and quality of food.
