Blue Mango — Restaurant in San Jose

Awful. I have been here a few times now and every single time it is super slow service. 15minutes to get our iced tea and some waters? But tonight was different... spent two hours in the restaurant. We were the only table in there for about the first hour. Once we were sat by the lady, we sat for 10 minutes... still the only table there... the same lady took our order for drinks... waited another 10 minutes for the drinks to hit the table.... still the only ones there... we order some appetizers and it takes about 20 minutes. We eat we talk and about 20 minutes later a couple other tables were sat. It was about 80 minutes after we initially sat down that we had to call her over to take our meal order and ask for more drinks. Remember we are now at 80 minutes since we sat down. The drinks never came and we had to ask for them after 20 minutes of waiting. Once two hours had passed... YES 2 WHOLE HOURS. We decided we would never see our food. Paid for what was ordered and left. It’s a shame because the food here is really good! BUT THE SERVICE IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!! We will not be visiting blue mango again and I wouldn’t recommend it unless you can sit...

Went for lunch and got one of the specials that came with rice salad and soup. The soup was very tasty and I could have eaten more. The salad was so sad, just lettuce with a bit of dressing dripped over it. Rice is rice. They put chili flakes in my pra ram, even though the menu indicated no "heat" in the dish. They took it back and exchanged it for Sweet Garlic Pork, which the waitress said was very garlicky. It was very sweet and not that garlicky, also the pork tasted like last weeks old leftover. It was dry and tough, almost like canned pork. They did not have the Paprika Calamari appetizer that the website had. Waitress said there must a problem with google still as she didn't know where that dish came from. I also ordered pad thai. The sauce tasted off to me. My companion tasted it and thought there was too much pad thai sauce and not enough peanut sauce. My companion a very different experience: She had the roti, the sakura (sushi) and a volcano cake and was very happy with her order. I placed an order from Blue Mango Restaurant last night for a birthday luncheon for my law firm today. The attorneys requested Thai Food but were complaining that there were no longer any good Thai restaurants near our office in downtown San Jose. I found your restaurant online and was impressed with the reviews.

I ordered Beef Panang, Green Curry Chicken, Pad Thai (combination), White Rice and Peanut Sauce on the side. My office was thrilled with everything. Every person who attended the luncheon served themselves seconds, including me (and I was worried I had ordered too much food :). The food was professionally packaged in metal trays and everything was thoughtfully sealed with plastic wrap first, then with metal lids to prevent spilling in my car. And it was delivered on a cart to my car and carefully placed in my trunk. Each person raved about how delicious it all was and asked where your restaurant was located and said they planned on visiting there soon. My boss said he gives it an A++
