I went in there for a quick meal on a day I was working remotely and for a change of scenery. I ordered a chicken shawafel and there bowls are just so wholesome.
The staff at Sajj are great and are very observant, hospitable and maintain the place very neat and clean. I could see that they were busy with their jobs throughout even when there were not many people in the restaurant dining in on a weekday late afternoon.
My only complain is I was served uncooked falafel in my bowl. The centre was raw and cold. I pointed it to them, they were nice to make another batch that was just as undercooked. I wanted them to know it was bad and mentioned I wouldn’t want a replacement. The staff was nice enough to try another batch just to ensure I left satisfied. It was just a little more cooked but still undercooked but I would give full points for the effort!
After this undercooked falafel incident I would probably not visit Sajj as often as I did before, but the staff...
Read moreI feel bad because I haven’t done this sooner. I can finally remember Larry’s name. I am writing this review over “some time” vs a one-off experience. It wasn’t until my most recent experience where I began to think “could Larry be the owner” of this store? I wasn’t sure if this was a chain or not, I just love the cuisine. I must say, when I come to this store, I used to say “I wonder if my friend is there today” when i can now say “I wonder if Larry is there?” As a small business owner, I know value! And if I could afford Larry, I would hire him! I know the max is a five star review, but I’ve always felt Larry deserved every bit of a higher score. For those who have ever gone into an establishment and felt expertise that was underpriced vs. the service level given, you’d know what I mean. Major salute to Larry, and I hope Sajj recognizes you in the for your...
Read moreSajj has very good food. It's like a Chipotle, except it has delicious Mediterranean food and all of the food is actually flavorful.
You can get a rice bowl, a wrap, a pita sandwich or a salad bowl, pick your protein then go down the line and add anything you want to it for a flat price. It's all really good, and it goes great together no matter what you add. It also comes with a free cup of yummy lentil soup.
Feta and avocado are the only things that cost a little extra. Make sure to try their garlic spread and the spicy tahini sauce at the end. You can also ask for some cilantro chutney and peri Peri hot sauce, they keep them in little containers to go and they add even more flavor to this already pretty amazing meal.
And one last thing the French fries are cheap, you get a lot of them and they're actually really good. I'd recommend this...
