Our experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing. My wife and two children had to wait 15 minutes before any waiter even acknowledged us.
While this is my personal account, I’ll stick to the facts. Several waiters passed by our table, offering variations of “I’ll be right with you,” “Just a minute,” or “I’ll be right back.” After hearing this repeatedly, I asked my wife, “How many times are they going to say that without even taking our drink order?”
To make matters worse, we were sitting at the very first table as soon as you walk in, so it wasn’t as though we were hidden in a corner. The heat inside the restaurant was also unbearable, making the wait even more uncomfortable.
Now, the food itself was good—flavorful, even—but the portion sizes left something to be desired. Despite the quality of the food, I chose not to tip the waiter because the service was simply unacceptable. We felt neglected throughout the entire meal.
As we were leaving, another couple walked in and sat at an open table, only to be told by a waitress that they couldn’t be seated because the cooks were going on their lunch break. When the couple asked how long the break would be, the waitress just shrugged and said she didn’t know. The couple handled it graciously, saying they would come back another day, but this bizarre exchange seemed like the final straw in a string of poor service moments.
I understand that restaurants can be busy, but as paying customers, we expect to be treated with a certain level of care and attentiveness.

Read moreeating here was an absolutely amazing experience! the restaurant itself is comfy and cozy, and feels every bit the locally-owned, down to earth little diner that it is. the staff is so, so kind and welcoming. my boyfriend and i were served by princess charlette, who may be the sweetest human i've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. she was super patient with us while we took in the huge menu and was attentive and kind throughout all of our meal. the food was absolutely amazing, and the portions were perfect - generous, but not enough to cause serious waste. i got the santa rosa omelet and my boyfriend got the banana short stack. both were absolutely delicious, and we took home the little leftovers that we did have. i can't recommend more that you go if you're in the area. café san josé has just earned itself some new loyal regulars.
i make a point to rate on a scale of lgbtq+friendliness (dangerous - unwelcoming - safe - positive - actively inclusive). this restaurant is positive to actively inclusive, and our waitress treated us with serious love and respect. very,...

Parking can get tight at times though there will always be a spot or two that you can get to grab.
We went in just before noon for a quick brunch. Got seated outside and were approached for placing an order right away in a courteous manner. We ordered a couple of modified speciality Benedicts.
One of them consisted of House potatoes along side english muffins topped with poached eggs, spinach , salmon bites (IIRC it was Salmon and not crab cakes scrambled) topped with some sour cream and Hollandaise sauce. The other order was again a benedict which had hash browns on the side while the muffins and the remaining part remained the same as first order. The taste was great and the a cup of black tea really complemented it well for me.
Took our time to finish the meal and were presented with the check right after which we took care of and headed out. All in all a great experience which i definitely would like to repeat on one of those days where you feel relaxed and crave for some good...
