I've been ordering delivery from China Station since moving to the area. Every now and then, you just get in the mood for some good Chinese food, and China Station's food satisfies the craving.
One of the first times I ordered, it was before COVID, and I was surprised (pleasantly) when the gentleman delivering walked into my kitchen and unpacked the food for me, setting it all up on the counter while engaging me in friendly banter. It was so sweet and such a nice service! And the man was SO delightful.
Since COVID, the food is delivered to your door and handed to you. But everyone I've met through delivery is kind and very friendly. As are the people who answer the phone at the restaurant.
And the food is good. We usually get the Cantonese dinner, but I can never forego getting honey-walnut shrimp and tomato-beef chow mein (which isn't technically on the menu, but they've never denied my order, which I appreciate--and, boy, is it fabulous!). Since we always get too much food, the leftovers last us for several days, which is excellent because then I don't have to think about cooking for X number of days!
Anyhow, the picture I took shows a small sampling of the Cantonese meal, plus the tomato-beef chow mein and honey-walnut prawns. (The Cantonese dinner includes soup, chow mein, fried rice, sweet-and-sour pork, and two eggrolls. Oh, and, of course, fortune cookies!) So, on the plate, starting at 12, are the prawns (no walnuts made it onto the plate, but I promise they did come with them). At 3 would be the chow mein. At 6, tomato-beef chow mein. At 9, sweet-and-sour pork. At 11, fried rice. In the center, the eggrolls. Above the plate, the soup with a fortune cookie on top. (I didn't want the soup, so it'll make an excellent light dinner tomorrow.) To the right of the plate, the sauce for the sweet-and-sour for the eggrolls.
Bottom line: I HIGHLY recommend the food at...
Read moreFirst time ordering from here was smooth and the staff was nice. Our take out order was ready extremely quickly, and was hot and fresh when we picked it up. We ordered the beef with broccoli fried rice plate, the beef with oyster sauce steamed rice plate, and the hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup was the worst I've ever eaten and just tasted like mushroom water instead of spicy, tangy, or anything. It was super bland, disappointing and tasted nothing like it should 0/10. The beef with broccoli and fried rice were just okay 6/10. Lastly the beef with oyster sauce was decent, however the steamed white rice was horrible. It was simultaneously gummy and dry at the same time. It was not a normal texture for rice and was almost inedible 4/10. Overall probably won't return, but glad I got to try...
Read moreWhat is this plate ? So , wife and I decided to have some Chinese food, happen to be in south side of San Jose, only place we seem to find or remember seeing , so, we should've know by the empty parking lot, dont get me.wrong They seem to have a good flow of pick up orders, so we ordered the lunch specials, I understand every place has they're take of foods, however, this place seems to be making what they think is your traditional plates, I can say all day ,"what is in this plate" but for you to understand you would have to order your own plate to see the difference in what I mean, so the picture shows a decent meal, but looks dodnt...
