I’ve been to many Tung Kees (TK) and I think this might be the worst one. That’s sad to me because it’s the closest TK to where I live, and I’ll never go back here again. The portions have always been smaller at this location than at "New Tung Kees," but when you need some TK, well... you NEED some TK. Unfortunately, they’ve just about did everything they can to lose my business. I always order a #3, which was $10 earlier this year (2020). They eventually made it $13, which irked me a bit (considering the smaller portion of food compared to other TKs), but I suppose I could understand due to the Covid pandemic & slower business. The thing that really made me stop going here was because they started taking out ingredients from their food! They usually put in those crunchy pork rinds into their #3. One day, I noticed the soup didn’t taste the same & saw that they removed the pork rinds. The next time I went, I asked them for the pork rinds and guess what? They charged me $0.50 for it! Now my noodle soup costs $13.50! For a bowl of soup that was small in portions already! It may not seem a lot, but when you start taking out ingredients from your already small-portioned soup as a cost-savings initiative, you make the overall dish tasteless. Next thing you know, they’re going to start taking out the wonton & meatballs, then the noodles themselves, and charge you $13.50 for broth! Now I know why my brother refuses to ever go to this location... Never again!
If you want TK, go to Luu’s New Tung Kee in Milpitas off of Calaveras! They give you more noodles, more wonton, more meat...and all for $10 (at the time of this writing in Nov 2020)!!! AND they didn’t remove the crispy pork rinds!!! A bit of a far drive? Maybe, but...
Read moreLeft in the heart 💙 of my hood! This TK Noodle has been here for many years; and throughout all those years, its never changed a bit! From the exterior and the logo to the interior and the menu! That's amazing to me, because every restaurant i can remember has changed its original logo, rearranged its variety of food selection/menu and has redecorated at least once or twice! Not them! Not TK Noodle! And how could you blame them!? If their recipe prooved successful for them, then why change anything at all!? I mean, thats what it looks like to me! Ive been a customer at least half that time and have no complaints. I've just recently mastered the understanding of their menu, and it's as simple as this: basically, you pick what kind of noodles you want, whether fried or in a broth, and exactly what you want on top, and they'll fix it up for you just the way you want! That's exactly what I did when I ordered this time and look, a picture worth a...
Read moreFood was okay, a little bland. Portions are okay. Was turned off by the lack of cleanliness. Dirty tables and windows made it dingy inside. Staff was not rude or friendly . Service was very fast. They removed chili containers and didn't return them. Restrooms are locked and no towels available, very much in need of serious cleaning. Had to open the door and return the key with clean hands was very difficult. Luckily I had wipes in my purse.
I saw other small establishments in strip malls and these prices seem high for the condition and location of restaurant. Will look for a cleaner place next time. Not worth returning especially with those prices. Other nice places to enjoy a meal for same price....
