Arrived here around 7:30pm for dinner. Was seated at table and immediately told we were going to be charged 18% tip for table of 6. That's expected, which is fine.

We were given a sheet to order the food instead of the usual qr code menu, which seemed unusual. We filled our sheet and had to wait awhile for it to be picked up. We had to eventually flag down a waitress to get our order. This was when things started going downhill.

We were told that they were out of pork and pork with crab soup dumplings. Only chicken soup dumplings were available. We were disappointed and had to adjust the rest of our menu to account for the original soup dumplings we were getting. Again, we had to wait awhile to find a waitress to give our order to. Couple minutes go by and then they tell us that they are now out of chicken soup dumplings along with couple of other items too. This was getting ridiculous as they didn't have anything that we wanted and it was too late to leave. We had to go back to the menu for a third time to try to figure out what to order.

In sum, this whole experience was a huge letdown. How can a dumpling shop run out of dumplings way before closing time, on a weekday evening? If they were running low on supply, perhaps inform the customer before seating them down and having them reorder three times? Perhaps some service and communication could have been better? Also thought the waitress was pretty unapologetic about the situation and just kind of left us to figure it out as if it was none of their business.

We are hesitant to ever come back here. We would also definitely not recommend this place to anyone or take guests here. It could leave you in an awkward situation where you come for dumplings and there's none left and you're left floundering on your own to reorder multiple times, in hopes there's something available.

There are plenty of dumpling shops in the bay area. The dumplings here are good but not that good where I won't venture to other places. This place has lost me...

I’ve been here once before in 2022 and had an okay experience— the food was actually delicious!! and recommended by many friends so I gave it a shot. The service was bad however- they forgot our order - which would be okay if they acknowledged they had forgotten it and put it in - but they gave us 3 different excuses for why it wasn’t out, and still didn’t address the fact the order was missing for over an hour! Recently We decided to go again because we enjoyed the food despite the service. However our recent bad experience was so awful I can’t ever return to this restaurant.

We ordered the zucchini and shrimp dumplings. When they came, they smelled like shrimp but they looked different from what we expected. We proceeded to eat them however we were suspicious, so when we got ahold of the waiter we inquired about the dumplings. Turns out they were shrimp and PORK. Neither of us eat pork due to religious restrictions and I felt so sick as I’ve never had pork. I had an awful stomach ache, and in the moment I didn’t say much and asked for a replacement dish, despite feeling sick to my stomach. I can’t even imagine how bad it would be if this happened to someone with an actual food intolerance.

It was so terrible and unfortunate because I have enjoyed their food in the past but this experience felt so awful. I adhere to strict religious guidelines and generally eat vegetarian or fish when I go out, so it was such a dissapointment to have...

We are going to lose our jobs to robots ( >︹<) You know that kind of service you get that even when you are rooting for humans to have a purpose in this world, you wish they were replaced by robots? That was the feeling I had "after 20 minutes" in the restaurant. To save you the read, the service was cold and unattentive. When we arrived, we were greeted by the host. It was decent. It was like any other Chinese or Vietnamese (C/V) restaurant. She had eye contact, no joy or spirit in their eyes or voice, and made sure we knew what to do. I can appreciate that. She even obliged when we asked to be seated at another table. 5 stars to host. We sat down and didn't get greeted (as any other budget post-COVID restaurant does) and I got to scan the table tent QR code which took me to a website that required a phone number to view the menu. Very standard stuff but here is where the night starts to turn unpleasant (minus the delicious food). Since we didn't want to provide our phone number we started looking around for someone to help us with another way to order. We looked and looked around, no one made eye contact towards our table for at least 5 minutes. What made this frustrating was that we were near the center of the restaurant and the kitchen. I don't get why the staff wasn't doing sweeping passes through the restaurant or (as we say in the Food & Beverage industry) having their head on a swivel (on the lookout if someone who needs service). What I saw was staff doing one thing at one table and then going back to the kitchen. Why? Sweep the floor!!! You can do more than one thing in a single trip. You actually conserve time and a ton of energy that way. ( >︹<) I also saw staff casually walking ( >︹<) (I'm sorry to stereotype here but this is the only way I can illustrate this) like a mall security guard and with the level of engagement as a parking lot attendant. (Again, I'm sorry for the stereotype. Please don't think that either one of these occupations doesn't have people that go to work with a purpose). When we did get service, we were met with dull eyes and a slump. His body, tone, and facial expression communicated "gosh, you're giving me work to do. You're supposed to do this yourself." So, I get that maybe that was one member of the staff. We ordered and got our food. The food seriously should have been delivered by a robot. The food runner (yes, they had people specific for running food) dropped off the food side-handed. I don't know of any culture where standing with your body facing sideways is proper at all! And that might have been OK because I've been served at other C/V restaurants but there was absolutely no eye contact, no verbal communication, and the gestures were in a very dart-like manner. Since we didn't have the app and they kept running out of stuff, we got served a few times to which my girlfriend said, "Wow, they are really cold. They make absolutely no eye contact and stand unpleasantly." I'll give the restaurant a gold star on their payment process (without the app). I'm surprised they allowed me to hold the handheld machine, put in my tip, and sign. I've been to a few restaurants where they need to hold the machine as I sign. They hover and stare making it very uncomfortable. As you can tell, I'm very big on service. The other things I noticed: - They use gloves as an excuse to be sloppy. They never change their gloves (yes, I watch when they bus the table and how long they are in and out of the kitchen door) and they stick their fingers into the cups and dishes sloppily. - Their food and price is amazing. I love their portion sizes and their flavor is great! - They ran out of food but this really isn't something to dock a restaurant for. I actually prefer this in some ways because I think food waste is a world problem. Manager: Please find good workers. I am rooting for humans. I'm rooting for humans, hospitality, love, and kindness. Go humans!
