My lunch here was surprisingly good. The main reason I didn't give five stars is because I only had a quick lunch there.
The mall is full of Chinese restaurants (and a Vietnamese one). This small place is unique in that you can see darkness and feel the quietness from outside - all window and door glasses are dark, darker than even most Japanese places. The interior is kind of small, similar to one on Geary in San Francisco. But seating is not at all tight like some Chinese and Mexican places of similar size. The dimmed light and sound-absorbing walls make you feel very comfortable. (But my perception of quietness may have been helped by the sparse guests at the time.)
I actually went for a friend's restaurant in the mall near the end of lunch hour, on a weekend hoping to run into him there, not knowing that it was closed. Unlike the one in San Francisco which I also entered at a similar time and day, there was only one waitress who also operated the cash register. I ordered a house special called "Spicy Boy" which is a salmon roll with avocado, two of my favourite foods. (If you want tuna, they also have a "Spicy Girl".) I cannot place what makes it spicy but the taste is very smooth. For an interior like this, I was expecting the food to be more expensive, so the $12 sticker was a pleasant surprise.
No decoration in the dining area really drew my attention - maybe there is nothing noticeably Japanese. But - pardon me for inserting this in a restaurant review, you can find very fine Japanese style decors in the roomy single-stall restroom. It is almost worth a visit...
ย ย ย Read moreWe have been frequently coming to this Sushi place for quite sometime now. We love it here and would sometime visit this Tokyo Sushi at minimum twice a week! We Absolutely Enjoyed the Sushi here! The services here are usually good, it is really Clean, pretty Cozy, very welcoming, Pleasant Atmosphere, Beautiful Setting, and most of all the Sushi is definitely Fresh and Delicious! My favorite is the Charazi Bowl.๐ I always ordered this dish everytime I'm here. It is Absolutely delicious! It comes with a Variety of Fresh Fish, some Salad, the Seeweed, and the Tofu Soup. Sometime We also ordered a couple of Rolls and the Hand Rolls as well. The Sushi Girl, the Super Spider Roll, Burning Love, and the soft shell Crab hand roll, are among some of our Favorites! I love them Spicy! Eventhough it is a bit Pricy, like most good Sushi places usually are, I like the vibe here and this particular location. Right off of Lundy inside the Pacific Rim Plaza. Plenty of Parkings! I personally would recommend this place and will Absolutely be coming back to this Tokyo Sushi! Wonderful birthday...
ย ย ย Read moreI dropped by for dinner to celebrate my birthday with my family. The food, service, and ambiance were all amazing! The inside is clean with warm lighting and I liked the wooden decor at the sushi bar.
I hate to say this as well, but it's a hidden gem. This unassuming sushi place seriously has the freshest sushi in town... so much more fresh than the other popular sushi places like rantei. Just look at the pictures.. I don't have to say any more to tell you how fresh that fish is. And the slices are thick!
The uni was my favorite but all the other fish were just as amazing as well. 4 of us shared a sushi platter (highly recommend) and a couple rolls. The rolls were delicious. They really perfected the ratio of the rice, fillings, and toppings
Also a side note but as a tea lover, i just wanna say their tea is really lovely too. Tastes like a mix between green tea and roasted barley.
For dessert we got mochi ice cream which was yummy. My favorite was the mango flavor.
I hope everyone gets to try Tokyo sushi because I highly recommend this place. Can't wait...
