El bumangues — Restaurant in San Jose

This was a long overdue one for my brother who was looking forward to visiting this place since the last time he was in the area, tonight we finally came all the way from San Diego/LA to support our paisanos. Hands down we felt like home, too bad my brother has a bad cold and couldn’t enjoy all the flavors but his fiancé (American) said this was the BEST burger she’s ever had. Having the tártara and piña was a delight paired with the panela lemonade which was a bit sweet for my personal taste but really refreshing. I recommend to get the lemonade over the manzana postobon which is made in America and it is loaded with sugar, I couldn’t drink it, only one zip and I was done with it. (I compared and the Colombian manzana postobon has less sugar indeed 18 grams/ 8 oz vs the American one 44 grams 12/oz ) which is a huge difference. The burgers were full of flavor, juicy and well cooked, the bread was also really good. I got the hot dog and it was great although the sausage is a bit salty which can be covered with the pineapple sauce. The fries took the crown, they were delicious, you can’t go wrong with fries with piña and tártara. Overall we recommend this place and we are really proud and glad someone from our hometown has brought our flavors and amazing Bucara fast food all the way to California. I had an amazing experience at this Colombian restaurant in San José! The food was full of flavor and made me feel right at home. Special shoutout to our server, Karol — she was incredibly kind, attentive, and made the whole experience even better.

Also, el plátano were out of this world — perfectly cooked, sweet and crispy on the edges. I would come back just for those!
