Where to start???? Food ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.. JUST FINISHED VOMITING. ORDERED A HAMBURGER, FISH &CHIPS, AND A BEEF/CHICKEN KEBAB PLATE. THE HAMBURGER HAD NO TASTE AND HAD THE CONSISTENCY OF CARDBOARD. THE FISH WAS DISGUSTING, BURNT AND LIKELY 2 WEEKS OLD. IT HAD FREEZER BURNS, WAS ABOUT 1/4" THICK, YUK!!!!!!! THE BEEF KEBAB HAD NO TASTE. THE CHICKEN KEBAB WAS SO SPICEY THAT WE COULD NOT EAT IT. BRO, I AM A DESI, I AM USED TO SPICES. THIS WAS STUPID SPICEY. ENDED UP THROWING ALL THE FOOD OUT. Service THESE JOKERS HAVE NO CONCEPT OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY JUST WANT TO CLOSE UP THE STORE AND GO HOME. ASKED WHETHER THE CHICKEN IS SUPPOSED TO BE SO SPICEY. HE JUST SAID YUP AND WALKED AWAY. NO CONCEPT OF HYGEINE EITHER. DISGUSTING PEOPLE. Atmosphere THE PLACE IS A DUMP.
On our way out I told several people that they are making a mistake going into this place. Cut your own throat, but don't eat here. I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU FIND A PLACE THAT HAS EDIBLE FOOD, AND CAN POSSIBLY PASS A COUNTY HEALTH INSPECTION. THIS PLACE HAS GASTRO-INTESTINAL DISTURBANCE WRITTEN ALL OVER IT. On the flip side, if you like to spew from both orifices, this may be the place for you.
RESPONSE TO THE COMMENT FROM THE OWNER: Listen you moron, Which part of my comment do you not understand? I was NOT turned away. You close at 930pm, we were there at 9pm. I wrote the comment because your establishment, the food, and your staff is garbage. It is no wonder that nobody go's there. Unfortunately, you can't take constructive criticism, so you have to leave ridiculous comments. I tell EVERYONE that I come across to avoid this place like the plague. Very interesting how you refuse to accept any responsibility as is referenced in all your responses to negative comments. AND BTW, EVEN IF WE HAD COME AT CLOSING, THERE WAS STILL NO EXCUSE TO PROVIDE DISGUSTING FOOD AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I HAVE ALREADY REPORTED YOU TO PUBLIC HEALTH. DAMN NASTY!!!!!
BTW, the food, service, cleanliness and overall experience is much better at the restaurant next door. I recommend trying Lahori, excellent food. Loved it. We had a group of 20 go there today, based on my...
Read moreMade a takeout order of NY style chicken over rice $13, lamb tikka skewer $7, and baklava $3 via their website on a Sun night and order was ready in 15 mins. Easy pickup since the restaurant was completely empty. They have a lot of tables inside. The entire plaza was pretty dead so there was plenty of parking
The NY style chicken over rice was excellent and the star of the meal. Flavorful chicken and rice. Salad was fresh. Slice of Afghan bread was decent. Generous portions of everything and not too salty. A white sauce is already drizzled on top of the chicken, but they also give you an additional 1 white and 1 orangish sauce, both are really good and I'm not normally a sauce person
They made a mistake and gave me a chicken tikka skewer at first, but let me keep that along with the lamb tikka skewer when I went back. Their both decent, nothing extraordinary. They got good flavor. Not dry, but not super moist and tender either. 4-5 pieces each
Baklava was 1 piece, decent size, but way too sweet. Too much honey. Still edible but I would not recommend
Overall, solid spot. Decent food, fair prices, generous portions. I would go back just for that NY chicken over rice. Way better...
Read moreDisappointment. Really wanted to try and like this place bc of the raving reviews and took a detour on my way from Santa Cruz to SF. I shouldn’t have!
The service. There was a teenage employee who was sitting at the back table eating when we walked in. No “welcome” or anything like that. If he was having a lunch break, why wasn’t there anybody else as a backup so that he can have a solid lunch? If he was working, why wasn’t he at the counter. Just strange and unwelcoming.
The atmosphere. Empty room with tables and chairs scattered in one corner, counter is messy and everything overall just looks like they’ve just moved in yesterday.
The food. I tried Afghani food before and I could say it’s my favourite cuisine however the food here was far from excellent. Lamb tikka was dry, had lots of fat so 80% of it went to waste. Chicken tikka was dry. Chicken kofta was ok. All meats were cooked ahead and just reheated for us. I don’t know for how long they were stored. Salad was bland, vegetables looked tired. Rice however was great.
Never will be...
