Last monday morning, my friends and I were on way to L.A. Luckily for us, this store opened very early (about 5:50 a.m). We bought 3 sandwiches, 1 BBQ pork, and 2 vegetarians (and some soft drinks from the fridge). Customer service was excellent, the cashier was very friendly and charming. The food however, is another story. Of all the Lee's I've been to, this store probably have the worst BBQ sandwich. The meat was rock hard and the bread was softer than cookie dough. To make the matters worst, I found a strand of BLACK HAIR sticking out between the pork and the veggies. I threw away the rest and nearly barfed in my mouth. I mean SERIOUSLY?! I ordered a BBQ sandwich, not a HAIR SANDWICH! I explained the whole situtation to the cashier and he offered me a refund along with a free sandwich of my choice. I refused the offer because we had to hit the road ASAP. He then offered me 2 eggrolls and an ice coffee which I did enjoy. Before we left, my friends and I pitched in a handsome tip for the guy. This review ought to be 1 or 2 stars (maybe even zero), but since the service was superb and the coffee was delicious, I am willing to perceive the incident as bad luck. PLEASE LEE'S SANDWICHES @ BERRYESSA , BE CAREFUL WHEN SERVING...
Read moreThis was the only Lees I would come to even though it was out of the way. However It seems like they changed ownership in the last month or two and I was able to notice the difference in the quality of the sandwiches. I usually order a number 6 and sometimes it was different, sometimes it was actually better. But this time I received a really grizzled and fatty piece of meat that I couldn’t even chew and it was very unappetizing. Please do better, you took over a great location and have the opportunity to serve your customers with quality food. Ps… fill your iced coffee to the top. After trying the new owners ~10 times I just don’t think I can come here anymore, it’s like a bad breakup 🥹. It’s not you, it’s me...
Read moreDefinitely one of the more modern looking Lee's Sandwiches I've been to. The only other ones I've been to is one is San Francisco and one other in San Jose a long time ago. I liked how they had a little grocery area for coffee (their own brand) and some other Asian type snacks. I ordered an ice coffee and a couple of sandwiches. I think their coffee is really strong, and shouldn't be drunken on an empty stomach. Sandwiches were good and do hold up overnight in the fridge. Microwave for about 20 seconds and the bread will be warm. I'd come back again for sandwiches if I was in the area. I was disappointed that they don't have noodle (flat wide)...
