Violet Foot Spa — Local services in San Jose

Not sure I'll come back even though it's near where I live. The lady did an OK job even though she didn't focus on my sore arm muscle like I asked.

The reason for the 2 stars review is because I didn't get a full hour for my body massage ($60). I got there at 2:07PM. She did not start right away because I had to undress. During my session, she stopped 4x for a total of under about 2 minutes (maybe she's the owner/manager?): 2 to greet potential customers coming in & 2 to briefly answer a phone call.

Then there were a few times she spoke in Chinese to her coworker outside of the room, which I'm guessing she was telling that lady to greet the customers coming in. By the time I looked at the clock when she finished, it was 3:07PM.

What is it with Chinese massage places where you're required to pay before the services?! I don't get it...

I rarely complain about service but this experience was noteworthy. The lady at the front was not welcoming and had a scowl on her face, like we were inconveniencing her. I paid in cash for a foot massage so I wouldn't be charged a credit card fee. The massage was mediocre since she kept doing the same massage strokes without any hand variation. As I left the room, she loudly said "no tip!" not giving me a chance to walk to the front to break the bill so I could pay her the tip that she deserved. I hike and walk a lot and they could have had a repeat customer but they blew that chance. Unprofessional to say the least. It's sad when customer service is nonexistent when your business is all based...

More important is the masseur was very unprofessional. I went there because I had sour shoulder and neck, and I was told focusing on shoulder and neck I need to pay extra. Also when I asked for more pressure, I was told by masseur that she was a lady and I should find a store with men masseur... (I actually tried, the other 2 stores were...
