Update June 2024: This is my favorite place to get Chinese food. Recently we've been getting takeout because our lives are so busy. Everything always tastes great. The staff recognizes us and is always friendly.
Today we got Bombay chicken, beef with green beans in black bean sauce, peking spareribs, beef chow fun, and assorted veggie tofu clay pot. Everything tastes spot on.
Today wasn't so busy, but if it's Friday night, the weekend, or a holiday, this place is packed, and/or they are slammed with togo orders.
Definitely coming back again.
Original Review:
Food was good as usual! If only I could keep eating.
Yuen yang fried rice- big hit with everyone (this was new to 2 people in our party). Beautifully displayed. Both sauces were great, rice soaked up the flavor!
Fried tofu- freshly fried, hot. Silky tofu and crispy outer. Shrimp tasted good with delicious brown sauce. (This was also new to the 2 people in our party and they were surprised that tofu was good!)
Peking duck 2 ways - At first the crispy duck portion I thought looked a little measly/bony, not a lot of meat, not too pretty, but when the 2nd way came out, they really used all the meat for that, which I'm okay with. It overall tasted good which I think is more important.
Sizzling rice soup- It tasted good/flavorful as well but was expecting the rice to sizzle more. The rice easily got soggy, was expecting more crunch. Tasted good though.
Salt and pepper pork - not pictured. Very good too. I ate quite a bit of this. For one of our party they were new to it and thought it tasted good but wasn't expecting the spice, haha.
The rest of the dishes were good too (see photos), albeit kind of not as special/banquety.
We will definitely be back. We all enjoyed this meal greatly, and the service was...
Read moreVery bad ATTITUDE. We visit at 10:7am 05.30.21 . The restaurent has only one group before us. We sat down and got ready for a long time and the staffs still have not take our order. 15 mins later i had to wave at the staff so that they know we are ready. The male staff ignored us. The female staff recognized us but as long as she stopped by our table: she YELLED AT US. she asked if we were in hurry? I said yes but we still had more than an hour to eat here and we had been waiting for 15 mins sitting at the table. The lady said “i know what time you arrived” her attitude was like i lied to her about our waiting time and she blamed that i should had tell them at the entrance if we were in hurry.
At that time, she yelled at me and my friend and other customers of the surrounding tables (arrived after us) looked at us and her. She kept yelling at me and my friend that when the restaurant is CRAZY crowded, we have to leave them time. Me thinking in my head: Come on, there are only 4 groups at that time. You think this is crazy crowded. I can empathy if you only have 2 staffs but the attitude is too bad. TOO BAD. I almost stand up and walked out at that time. I did not argue with her because i dont want this ruin our day. But this is the worse waitress attitude i have ever met. The food after that came out quickly. The quality of the food is just ok, short ribs pork smelled old actually. And the vegetable is so salty. In the end, they automatic charged %15 TIP in the bill. I gave the TIP but honestly she doesnot deserve that TIP. I will never return here...
Read moreOcean Delight use to be great, unfortunately it is not great anymore. My wife and I came here on a Sunday for Dim Sum. It was pretty busy but there were still open tables. As we waited, a man came up to the owner as he was waiting for some time and asked the owner if someone could come and take his Family’s order. He mentioned he was waiting for a long time. The owner turned to him and said...”if you don’t like it, you can go some where else”. Both me and my wife looked at each other with amazement and the reaction of the customer was priceless. Who tells their customers that?
Finally we were seated and chose our dishes from the dim sum carts. When I bit into the xiu mai, the texture was odd, so I spit it out on my plate and realized that the pork was completely raw. I don’t mean pink, I mean completely raw. So I told the lady there that seems to be in charge and she apologized and provide us with cooked Xiu mai. Our next dish was beef rolled in rice paper. It was not fresh. It looked and tasted like it was made a day or two before we received it. We ended up not finishing our meal, paid the bill and left. We will not be back, which is sad because we use to...
