I made a visit to Pokeworks with a friend as we had to make an adjustment to our plans last minute. He suggested Pokeworks as he has been here before. It was my first visit. He let me know they were having a promo and suggested I order online. I tried ordering online multiple times on my iPhone, but the shopping cart would never update my order for check out. After wasting about 20 minutes trying to order online, I headed my way down to the restaurant to order in person. As I drove up to the building, I saw a sign to park in the parking garage inside the building. There were open spaces so it was easy to find a good parking spot. After entering the restaurant, I stood in the ordering area and one person asked if I was ready to order and I said yes. They he moved back to work on all the online orders. After waiting some more and watching them make many online orders a different person was able to help me with my order. There wasn't much of a friendly greeting, but they got right to the point and I placed my ordered with the different ingredients laid out at the counter. I decided on the 2 scoops of protein with salad base and an assortment of toppings. At the cashier, I was trying to use the promo code which I was previously going to use online. After I gave them the code, it was a bit tricky as they wanted me to show them the app on my phone. After a bit of back and forth, they were finally able to provide the discount. There was indoor seating, but we decided to eat outside at the park which was right down the street. The poke bowl was decent, a good blend of ingredients, but the fish was on the lighter side. I would say the scoops are a bit small. So overall, the food was OK, the online ordering was process didn't work, staff was not super friendly, and check out was...
Read moreI have tried Pokeworks many times since its close to where I live. A few things I have noticed over time:
-The ponzu fresh sauce is delicious. I love it -Do NOT come here in the evening. They always, ALWAYS are out of multiple things in the evening. I have come here before and they didn't have sushi rice and salad greens available, or multiple toppings, or a few kinds of fish. It really is always out of something in the evening. -Service is slow. Be prepared to wait a while in the afternoon. The assembly is not efficient and you will often see one person making bowls and ringing people up while several people hang out in the back, washing dishes and whatnot. Not a good look -Have also had orders with the bowls being assembled incorrectly. Wrong sauces, wrong bases from what was requested, etc. -Pricing is more expensive than other poke places, and they do charge for avocado
Overall, not a great spot, despite how tasty the bowls can be when the stars align on quick service and actually having the ingredients in stock. I have given this place many chances but they have fallen short consistently. Be aware, and consider driving a bit further to go to a...
Read moreEdit: I ordered another Poke bowl today, approximately 3 weeks after my previous order, and it was a lot better this time around. The bowl was filled all the way to the top. Almost all of the ingredients were present, seaweed salad was still missing.
Original: My first two orders from this place were exceptional! The food, service, quality, quantity, everything was great, but this time around, my poke bowl seemed smaller (though I ordered a small bowl the first two times too, but the bowl size was bigger than what I got today), was only about 60% full and was also missing a lot of ingredients. There was no hijiki seaweed, edamame, sweet corn, sweet onion, serrano peppers, cilantro, seaweed salad, surimi salad, green onion, pickled ginger, garlic crisps, soft tofu, and shredded nori. The server was also different this time around. I am really, really...
