The reviews giving this place high praise are false. Every single time I go here, my order is incorrectly made. Whether it be incorrect amounts, or ingredients missing entirely, the food simply isn't up to standards.
I've lived nearby my entire life, and this place used to be good. Within the last decade, it's severely declined in quality, with more focus on speed rather than precision.
A little advice for the owner/manager: Please, focus on giving the customers the food they ordered, rather than getting them out of the door as soon as possible. I know corporate is focused on decreasing drive thru times, but people are refusing to return because of a multitude of factors, with the biggest being incorrect orders. Not speed.
Please, focus on training your employees more when they're on the line. The expediter doesn't even check the food, they don't even count the items half the time.
I could understand if these issues only happened during the lunch/dinner rush, but it's consistently poor quality. The employees need better training. The managers need to be less restrictive when it comes to portion control, too. As another reviewer pointed out, the nacho cheese cups that come with the nacho fries/nachos are generally half to a third full, rather than filled to the top. In my case, the potato soft tacos contain 5 potato bites (which is enough for half).
Consistency and quality are the two factors this location needs to work on. Both can be achieved by actually teaching the employees how to make the food, rather than relying on a computer program when they're first hired (which lets them retake the test over and over until they get it right a single time. I know this because I've worked...
Read more2/26/23... This is a re-write of my newest visit to Taco Bell at 5431 Camden Ave., S.J., CA. I used the drive through at 2:44 p.m.. I have frequented this place several times with the same order. This day, there were new/different staff (a man and a woman) that refused to take my order. I ordered a Fiesta Veggie Burrito with no tortilla, red chips or chipotle. I tried to finish saying my order when the lady (Darlene) said that they could not make it that way for me. She offered a "Power Bowl," which was not what I wanted. I said "No, that is too much food." I explained that I order it there all the time. She said, "No, I have never heard of that order before." I tried to explain again and she kept pushing the Power Bowl. She refused to make my order. I even showed her and him receipts from other Taco Bell locations of the same order. I didn't have my receipts from this location with me. There was also a man that was involved. He refused too. Did I mention that I drove out of my way to go there because they have made it several times before for my daughter and I. I'm so disappointed. 😔
Old write-up...Friendly and clean. But, if this is the Taco Bell on Camden near Hwy 17, they could use to DRASTICALLY improved the Drive-through. It's usually slow. Not to mention, the portion sizes...
Read moreI hate that I have to start with this, but you expect less than satisfactory quality from a drive-thru fast food experience and that includes dealing with the employees as well. I have DELIBERATELY gone out of my way to look up this Taco Bell location and express how blown-away I am by this place. This place serves picture-perfect food and EVERY time I have spoken to a drive-thru operator it has not only been pleasant but typically friendly and upbeat. I have gone back many times just to be certain we didn't have a "fluke" good experience, because...this industry has really plummeted into being self-aware of it's own garbage repertoire...only to be assured this location has some sort of code of honor they hold themselves too and obviously provide proper training. They must have a great hiring process as well. I mean, I would not look up a Taco Bell to review them...it's not something I expected to do, but do yourself a favor and order anything from here and look at how "as promised" the item is. I will follow up with a picture next time. This place has...
