Via Mia Pizza - Camden Ave — Restaurant in San Jose

This place used to be good. I mean the pizza was delicious and the wait time was reasonable. The past three times that I have visited the quality of the specialty pizza has gone down. The wait time was ridiculous. I ordered and 40 mins later it was ready. This has happened twice in the last three times I visited. The reason for the long wait was that they kept taking the pepperoni pizza from my order for other people's order. I know this because my specialty pizza was warm at best and the pepperoni pizza was piping hot. When I have ordered bacon, in the past, on a pizza they gave you a plethora of bacon. Now when I ordered bacon my pizza they gave me Canadian bacon. That's ham and not bacon in my opinion. When anyone orders bacon they don't expect Canadian bacon and are greatly disappointed...

I wish I had taken pictures but the pizza smelled too good and we devoured it immediately! We all have a gluten intolerance (not celiac) in the family so we ordered 2 medium gluten free pizzas. The first was a GF Via Mia Artichoke and the second was a GF Jalapeño Pineapple (2 topping). It only cost $2 more per pizza and the owner gave us a coupon that brought the price down. He also offered a free liter of soda, since I was a first time customer. The pizza itself was so good! Both had ample toppings but held together well with the perfect amount of cheese. The crusts were also yummy, we couldn’t tell that they were gluten free.

Also, they are so clean and have protective plastic for COVID precautions. I felt very safe purchasing my pizza from here. I’ll definitely be coming...

I was trying to find a substitute for "Premier Pizza" (I absolutely love that place for 15+ years!) in south San Jose, so I tried Via Mia twice just because I read about them in Mercury News a week ago. The news paper got it so wrong. To be fair, my first order was for GYROS pizza, and it was not bad at all. But they really messed up my second order yesterday for FOUNDER’S SPECIAL. I specifically asked for extra PESTO Sauce, and to be frank I could not taste pesto sauce at all, they still put tomato sauce in the mix and messed it up. And they just loaded up the pizza like just buying stuff from Safeway and just throw up on the pizza without any sense of taste or combination. I will drive 7 more minutes to my all time favorite Premier Pizza, but sorry, not going to...
