Sushi Masa — Restaurant in San Jose

Terrible customer service, Dishonest management (especially the lady in the front), and Subpar food. Made an order to go, was advised about Happy hour, quoted a price, and the time the order will be ready. The weather was bad, and when I put the address in the GPS it was going to take 20 minutes longer to get there. I did not want the food to be called, so I called within a few minutes requesting my order to slightly be delayed the guy that answered the phone said no problem, a few minutes later a lady calls me back and states that the food had already been made and they could not delay it. Not sure why the food would be ready when I requested that the order not to be completed till 35 minutes later due to my drive. Regardless, I said no problem, and made my way to the restaurant. When I arrived, the restaurant was super slow with 4 people standing around doing nothing, but they still requested that I wait till they can assist me. I had no issue waiting. Five minutes later the rude lady shows up and asks for my credit card for pickup. I provided the card, and the lady charged it and handed me a receipt with a 20% increase above the quoted price. She tried to be sneaky and not provide a detailed receipt. When I asked for a detailed receipt, she said ok, and she provided it. I noticed that all Happy hour prices that were quoted were all different, and when I asked about the variance, the rude lady stated that they do no do happy hour for pickup orders. I stated that it was quoted and confirmed by the gentleman that took my order; her reply was "that is not true, I do not know who you spoke with". That is such a huge lie, since she knew exactly who took my order, and she even called me back to state that they could not delay my order. The money was not the problem, it is the ethics and honesty behind the situation, and the way this rude lady went about it with no integrity or care. Obviously she has no idea what customer service is all about, or how to handle the business. When we tried the food, it was cold as expected, with no special taste or flavor. So I will never be back to such place that do not value their customers, lie to people, are extremely rude, and highly unethical. Wanted to share so others...

From start to finish, I had a lovely experience! As soon as my cousin and I walked in we got greeted and helped right away. The restaurant itself is very cute and cozy inside and you can tell they maintain it. There are different seating areas sectioned throughout the restaurant. Each area had its own charm to it! Would’ve been super happy wherever we had to sit lol.

All employees at the restaurant were super friendly and kind and attentive. The food not only came out fast but the quality was great! One of the best places I’ve had chicken Katsu. I know I’m basic for getting Katsu but because I’m basic and I’ve tried it at so many places, I personally think it’s fair to say it was one of the best. Lol moist inside, perfectly flakey panko outside and the rice they served it with was shaped like a heart. I thought that was the cutest touch lol. Anyways this is my 3rd review ever and I really feel like this restaurant deserves some positive feedback for their spectacular service.

Great sushi and attentive service. My girlfriend and I experienced this place when others were closed in the area only for dinner because it was a Sunday. We came in 30 minutes before they closed for dinner. We had Supreme service! Even though they had to close up we didn't feel rushed. We got simple rolls. We had ahi tuna, salmon and yellow tail rolls individually rolled with the authenticity of the seaweed wrap on the outside. We had a great miso soup, the side salad was great along with all of the rolls. The warm sake complemented everything. This place is a hidden gem and not over priced. Ohhhh and the gyozas so delicious! My girlfriend and I have found our new sushi spot when we're in this area. I recommend it to all in the area. Thinking about all the food makes me want to...
