Went there on Sunday for my wife’s Bday. We made a reservation and specifically asked twice for a table with a half bench. We got there and the host brought us to non half bench table. Our waiter Angelo, with only 5 of us there asks us for drink order immediately. No specials or offered or mentioning of the soup of the day. The rest of the party arrived. Angelo and his team only brought one basket of chips, one salsa. Normally for a large table it’s pretty common sense to bring two baskets. He took FOREVER to come back, they could not make a mojito or the passion fruit drink, he then takes the order without asking the new guest if they wanted a drink. My chips were great, salsa too, but I needed water and NO ONE came to check on if we needed water. I’m sorry we had 3 kids with us but the vibe was insulting. I had to hold my empty water glass on top of my head and no one cared. Angelo avoided us like the plague. Food came out, of course mines was cold, but I was already done, presentation on food looked good. Unfortunately, my Father In Law food was too salty, but guess what he never came back to check. Then they allowed Mariachis to come in for another party, and it was so loud, I couldn’t even sing my wife a happy birthday. I had asked the buzzer for stuff for our cake we brought, but only brought us plates. No forks or knife….just basic service was lacking. Finally Angelo asked Father in law about his dish that he did not eat, he offered to replace it with a carne asada burrito, that was cool, but when he went to eat it the next day there was NO CARNE ASADA. You can’t make this up. It sucks when waiters don’t even try to serve a table knowing they are getting automatic gratuity. I would never recommend this place to anyone with a party of 6 or more. It’s a good place for people that want terrible drinks and horrendous service. Never ever going back here. Please refund my...
Read moreI am very disappointed in the service my family and I received on Mother's Day. We decided it was the perfect place to bring mom as the interior was so beautiful and I had seen so many promising reviews on Instagram and Tik Tok. We arrived to Tostadas closer to 8:45 am and it was not busy whatsoever. We were waiting to be seated for about 15 minutes and the bartender informed one of the servers that we had been waiting, but she just walked off to the back, didn't acknowledge us. The bartender ended up seating us. The servers were not having it and didn't even bring us menus. One of the servers came up to us in a rush trying to take our order but we still hadn't even received the menu. We are very patient people and decided to still stay even after the poor first impression. After 15 more minutes, the server finally came to take our drink orders. We asked for horchata, diet soda, and cafe de olla (as it was early). The server said that none of these were available. We ended up asking for regular coffee and orange juice. While we had the server in front of us, we asked her to take our order as we didn't know how long it would take her to come back. Since it was early, we wanted breakfast food items. We began ordering our food and the server informed us there were no country potatoes and the only side items available were beans and rice. At first, we were willing to settle as the place was very aesthetically pleasing, but after all the experiences that we had from the moment we got there, we decided to leave and go to a place nearby where we received better service and had no food limitations. Going to Tostadas was a waste of our time and for the amount of attention and following it has on Instagram, we expected so...
Read moreThis is an authentic restaurant with chefs roots in Mexico City.
They make their own hand made tostada chips from red or blue corn.
These chips are the base for most excellent tostadas, namely birria tostadas that they have down very well. With a serving of these, you do not leave hungry, let's just say that. Plus their consume is spot on.
They also have things you don't find in many other places such as grilled octopus. Octopus is hard to do right without turning into chewy rubber. Theirs is tender and come with some young potatoes over a garlic oil sauce that you could just drink.
They also have birria plates, massive birria burgers, burria pizza, and the traditional tacos.
Also fun cocktails.
Go there, it will take a few times to work your way through this amazing menu, it will be a fun journey.
The only negative is that the wait staff needs a bit better management. They don't look around at tables to see if they need anything, check in with you. So you need to actively flag someone down, but if it's not your waiter, they will go summon them. I've had to go to the bar myself to order drink refils sometimes. They need to work on this. They are friendly, and get busy too, regardless, checking in on tables is part of that demanding job. But it's not a reason to not go. I been many times and love this food here. I brought many...
