Me Vale Madre - Cupey — Restaurant in San Juan

This Mexican restaurant really hits the mark. The main downside was the packed parking lot, which can be a bit of a hassle. But trust me, it's worth the minor inconvenience. Right off the bat, the staff made us feel welcome, quickly finding us a table. Their food suggestions were spot on too.

To start, they served us some complimentary snacks with an incredibly tasty sauce. We even asked for the spicy version, which did not disappoint. The octopus ceviche we ordered as an appetizer was out of this world - the texture and flavors were just right.

The main dishes kept up the high standard, impressing us both with how they looked and tasted. They prepare excelent drinks, and the tacos of cochinita pibil, in particular, was a standout, showing how much care they put into their food. And the dessert? It was the perfect end to our meal - really delicious.

Overall, we had a great time here. It's a place we definitely plan on coming...

Dessert was offered but when chosen we were told they were out of ice cream yet we chose the churros but didn't give us a discount for lack of ice cream. The vegetarian taco offered was a fiasco, had scattered vegetables and the chicken taco served in my order wasn't appealing, it had a big piece of breast over the tortilla. My wife's chicken tacos had chunks of mashed chicken. The appetizer we ordered was the lamb tacos which didn't impress us. We were reccomended to try a Michelada which made our daughter sick cause its made with chili powder. Our table was too close to the next, could hear their conversation and at one time, after visiting the restroom I almost sat on the lap of a young boy sitting next to me. This is how close the sitting areas are. Overall we will not return nor reccommend it. The waiting time was not proper, longer...

This Mexican restaurant really impressed me. While it's a bit pricier than others, the experience is worth it. I visited on a Sunday and it wasn't too busy, maybe is the best day to go. The staff were friendly and efficient, especially the bartender. The food was exceptional, with generous portions and great presentation. I recommend the carne ahumada tacos, there are on a new level. They have a wide menu selection, including tasty creative cocktails. However, parking can be a hassle, especially in bad weather, as it's shared with other businesses and tends to fill up quickly. They do accept credit...
