THIS is old school Italian: smiling and professional waitress, grandma telling the story of making meatballs and sauce at 6am, everyone genuinely making you feel at home. Food is traditional with some family spins like slightly sweeter red sauce, superb dressings and a unique crowd pleasing pizza (my son said the best he’s had!). The decor is a priceless time capsule straight out of an East Coast Little Italy, sadly now mostly forgotten but living on here, way out west. Dining room could use some less harsh lightbulbs (small detail) but you’ll hardly notice the lighting after a bite of garlic bread. The service was outstanding. Rita, the owner, personally came out to greet us, which added such a warm, personal touch. Our server, Esperanza, was incredibly helpful and gave us spot-on recommendations that made the meal even better.

I get sentimental when I come to San Diego. I always want to stop by and eat something from this restaurant. All the food is really good. I used to come here when my kids were little now they are adult one of them Married and every time that we get the chance to stop by when we go to San Diego, we do it. We used to live in San Marcos for almost 20 years. Now we’re leaving in Palm Springs California.
